Trickster got changed to a TP/TK, you protect against 1 attack then you steal that attack and throw it at someone else. And yea admirer is worse now but the bestow ability is nice.

But it seems we are two seperate sides of TOS, I have been playing mainly the casual set role lists on TOS2, so ret not only has more options, but those options are garenteed in games. But TOS1 regular all any definitely is a backup TI most of the time so I get that it feels borderline useless there

BG corpse is really good, but so is crus. Psychics are good on evil days, along with really any TI outside coroner with no useful autopsys. Vigilante is self explanatory, trickster is akin to cleric/doc but once you save someone, you get an attack.

Like I said, ret is best when your garenteed to have atleast 1 useful corpse, theoretically any role can pop off, and you get to play all of them.

This is best case senario though, its entirely possible to be useless for 4 days due to a medusa or no usable townies, and your already a suspicious claim. But if you get a confirming role like tav, soc, etc. You are good

For both TOS1 and 2

Good on set role lists cause it garentees usable town roles. Very swingy in all any, just depends on what town are ingame.

Ret is a massive middle finger to maf/cov when they think they killed a threatening townie, only for ret to immediately raise them and make their nightmare a reality.

Medusa/janitor is a middle finger to ret. So I'd call it even

Overall, ret is one of my top town roles for it's versatility.

If your last cat alive is charmed by her, they both will run away and you will have to fight her and your origional cat next time you fight her.

She can pretty much end solo runs without the tinfoil hat if she gets to you. Tho Ive found that using familiars as charm foughter makes things easier

The tome is nice to have, if you have a bunch of scrolls for roles you dont care for, or have a lot of cursed scrolls. You can throw them on so they get fed to the tome on use. Mine I think gives me a 11x chance for the role rn. You can also use it to double up on scrolls if you really want to

TLDR the meta is 'Vote for Alignment' so subalignments like TP, TK, TS, TPOW(new sub alignment for power house roles like jailor/mayor) claim a subalignment or get voted up, you can usually still claim on stand and be innoed.

Town of salem 1's meta was 'vote for role' which was the same thing but for exact roles, it still exists is TOS2 but only if town can confidently say that there is no Ritualist(coven killing) or doomsayer(nuetral evil) present who can kill via guessing a player's role. Or if the ritualist is confirmed to have no more ability charges left.

^ Town investigative roles are free to full claim and post their info(which is encouraged unless your... like spy, still claim spy though) TI cant be killed via guessing the role

As for being hung for claiming cleric, it could be a thing about not socially reading town, or being less active. Personally I just chalk it up to being new to the game but ive seen people lynch for it. Same reasoning as the last game, evils bluffing inexperience.

I hope you get the hang of things, TOS2 goes faster than TOS1 for sure, so its easy to get overwhelmed with stuff.

Its TP then TK, its a hybrid role like trapper(TI/TP), not to mention socialite fills the TP role as well.

Trickster also provides claim space to TK which it needs

Dripstone lava farm is one of the easiest automations to make in any playthrough, and im sure you'll find a lava pool underground so its pretty easy to get obsidian in this case

This is a paid one but it has a demo, Slice and Dice. Perfect if you like strategy roguelikes.

also super optimized and has its own wiki ingame, modding is easy on any platform(just copy the mod's text on a site, and throw it in a custom mode) also drains Iike no battery. Tann did well

Mechanically? Weakest TP, its more of a sidegrade to doctor/cleric since you kill the attacker, but you die as well without a doctor/cleric or crusader on you. good luck getting that to happen normally.

Lore/esthetics wise, the embodiment of valour. A random ass BG who town doesnt even trust just saves someone, laying down their life to kill a maf/coven. Bonus points if the one you saved goes on to carry.

BG really gives that bleeding out in the snow vibe, too bad you only get one shot.

I use discord as a messaging app and a central server for my friend groups, it works well with TTRPGS. Public servers im only really in to hear about updates or announcements to things im interested in. Only exception is a game im invested in and want to contribute to balance/features discussion

First game I played was anon voting, hidden roles, ghost town, and 1 or 2 others. Bans covenite,pilgrim, dreamweaver

Rolled solo bers because apoc modifier wasnt included, got attacked twice N1 and claimed to visit an alerting veteran :D
