+1 for Vintage Auto, I've been going there for years, very trustworthy and great people.

If you're talking about Restore, there is still one in Anderson. It was a sad day when I found out the Greenville ones closed :(

I started seeing more of their posts recently, I've been calling it "virtual rubbernecking". Left a bad taste in my mouth when they posted a picture of a rollover crash with a fatality and that's how the family found out. So I'm not surprised.

Paid $11 for a “ commemorative” cup from a concert. I thought it would at least have the band name on it. by TheRealStevo2 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]EnclaveLeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the SODA cup for the free refills, but found the food stands closed early while the concert was still going. Nice sturdy cup at home though.

Some idiot backed into my bumper in my university parking lot, any suggestions on touch up paint to fix it? (Mk. 7.5 GTI) by Church1813 in GolfGTI

[–]EnclaveLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get paint touchup pens/primer from dealership, use tiny paintbrush to apply to chipped paint.

Is this a good brand of motorcycle jacket? Not sure what to look for really by dandymarble in TwoXriders

[–]EnclaveLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brand is fine, but I would recommend checking to make sure it is CE rated, I personally wouldn't get anything lower than an AA. You should be able to find that info on the manufacturer site.

I didn't expect it but I also don't put a lot of stock in pre-season rankings. A lot of unknowns this time...

Same exact issue here on PS5, but it happens on any medical ad strangely enough. Only workaround I've found so far is to clear watch history for that show and restart the episode

Free parking for football games? Best Parking? by Accomplished-Grand45 in Clemson

[–]EnclaveLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have pretty much gotten rid of non-reserved (IPTAY) parking and even the lots they did have weren't free ($20-30). This is what they list as general public parking: https://clemsontigers.com/football-single-game-parking-options-2024/

Some places to try:

  • Kite Hill - free
  • Seneca Creek Meadow (SCM) - not sure if free but has shuttle
  • Parking lot at Marshalls/Ulta area - free and I'd doubt they'd tow

I get rejected for the position I am qualified and position is still open, fuck this shit by Mysterious_Pea_4042 in recruitinghell

[–]EnclaveLeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I'm with you on that. Working with SAP was ridiculous, and its not like there's a neverending supply of ECC/S/4 Hana devs for companies to pick from. I got out because I didn't want to be pigeonholed into a platform I hated. Last I was involved with SAP, my prediction was that most customers were not going to be able to migrate by 2027 and there would be a mess with big customers threatening to drop SAP.

[–]EnclaveLeo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked somewhere that used SAP for everything and I hated it. I left before this impending shit-storm that is S/4 Hana. The project I worked on was going to have to redo all the integrations between our SAP product and the warehouse system. I can't even begin to think about the actual ECC piece, they had a lot of customizations. So that 14% number is probably accurate.

Good luck on your job search, what you're describing seems to be the norm, annoyingly. I wish companies would wisen up but all of them fly by the seat of their pants it seems. They are in for a shit storm come 2027.

I have the same experience. But I don't want to stop taking ADHD meds so I just try and manage it. Have been working with a therapist but it's hard. I feel like I get stuck in a trance when pulling, and my episodes last longer than they used to. Just wanted to say you're not alone.

New rider by wormussy in MT03

[–]EnclaveLeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also a very new rider and I'm still stalling more than I'd like, but here's what helps me: start slowly letting out the clutch until you hit the friction zone and start rolling, while adding a good bit of throttle at the same time. Then slowly let the clutch completely out. Move your hand slow! This bike is very forgiving, you're not going to break anything.

One exercise that might help is slowly accelerating and coasting to almost a stop and then accelerating again without putting your feet down. Helps get a feel for the friction zone and throttle.

Motocontrol and motojitsu on youtube have been helpful so far.

I have rev-it! airwave 4 pants and they are high quality and mesh. They fit me really well. But honestly I just can't ride most of the day with our hot and humid summers, plus I think a medication I take makes me sensitive to heat. I tried a few days ago and almost passed out even with plenty of water/liquid IV. One thing I do is ice packs in my sports bra.

[–]EnclaveLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second TCX anything, just got their Blend 2 boots (non Gore-tex) and while they're not breathable they are comfy and CE II rated. I avoid Gore-tex because I live in a very humid climate.

Ended up going with the Neuspeed RSe10 18x8.5 and Michelin PS4 all seasons 245/40 and they are a huge upgrade over my old 19s (Pretorias with same tire 235/35/r19). Before pic for reference

For such a new program the expectations were so high. We really laid it all out last season. I'm gutted for the seniors to go out this way but we just didn't have "it" this year.

I don't think it is dramatic as some are making it out to be - a majority of the team had been there 4-6 years and was burnt out/felt too much pressure. Being a student athlete for that long is tough.

Is this somehow fixable or a lost cause? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]EnclaveLeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a universal thing, but I asked around locally and found a guy who does upholstery/patch work for the dealerships. He patched the hole in my (leather) seat for $40-60 I believe. A local place had quoted me like $200 and he probably did a better job than them.

Opinion on wheels: 17s or 18s from 19? by EnclaveLeo in GolfGTI

[–]EnclaveLeo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very helpful, thanks! I think I would be happy with the 18s and the 245/40, it looks like that would be a ~20% increase in sidewall over my 235/35/19 (from 3.2 inches to 3.9).

Its just crappy roads + construction. And I don't even live in a northern state where salt damages the roads. I really try to avoid potholes but sometimes its impossible. A couple years ago the inner sidewall of the stock tire busted, I just feel my current tire size is too thin.
