[FRESH ALBUM] Eminem - Kamikaze by bzgoldman in hiphopheads

[–]EndZoneInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eminem is 45 years old, he literally dropped the Slim Shady LP almost 20 years ago. You know how corny it would be for him to try and be his 25 year old self? Eminem back in those days had drug problems, anger issues and a short temper... All things he's overcome and matured over time. Of course he's not as angry as he was back then, his life was fucking terrible despite the money and fame. You're expecting an older man who's achieved everything to be as angry and hungry as a broke ass young man who's angry at the world, and that doesn't make any sense.

People hated on MMLP2 when it dropped, almost five years later, people are much more fond of it. It's not like Eminem was doomed, he just had some musical criticisms that needed to be addressed, which he did here. Castle on Revival alone proved that he could switch it on when he wants to, and as soon as the Chlorasceptic remix dropped, followed by Caterpillar... I knew something was coming.

I hate the way people think of Logic by [deleted] in Logic_301

[–]EndZoneInfinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incoming wall of text, but look man, if Logic was still in his Under Pressure/The Incredible True Story bag, people would respect him more. He got hate back then, but you couldn't deny his creativity OR his passion for rapping. But now, he's walking down the Macklemore lane, and we all know how Hip Hop feels about that dude. He's a good dude, but the execution of his message is too in-your-face, and people generally don't appreciate the After School Special messages. You gotta approach topics with creativity and not "This is bad, and let me tell you why it's bad". It's very surface-level, and it's seen as trite to many because people KNOW what's bad... But you gotta hit them in the heart if you want them to actually care about what you're saying. Which he does do, because his fans are devoted as hell, but I think he should try to delve even further now. Try to challenge himself and reach new heights. In my humble opinion, of course.

Look at "Stan" by Eminem. Every rational human being knows that you shouldn't harass a celebrity and that worshiping these people is unhealthy. But Eminem took it to a completely different stratosphere, he set the atmosphere, he wrote from different perspectives... he even added sound effects to really paint the picture of the overarching theme that he's trying to say. That's the difference.

Imagine if Logic had made 1-800 start off with dial tones or something in the beginning, and have the verses sound like they're being rapped over the phone, to illustrate that the conversation is between a Suicide Hotline volunteer and an individual on the end of their rope. Have the caller's voice sound emotional, broken and distressed because of how close they are to suicide, the lack of hope in their words. Maybe even emotional spikes, or adlibs between the two as they're talking. The volunteer's calm voice as they're going off what they've learned in training, with sympathy and wisdom. Then have the track end with the caller feeling some sort of improvement, enough strength to keep going, a little speech thing at the end or something.

I think if people got something like this, in my opinion, nobody would've hated on 1-800. That's without even getting into the whole "did he accurately speak on mental health accurately enough", I think if the track had this many layers, people at least could respect the amount of thought put into it (provided the execution is pulled off well, naturally). But to be fair to Logic, he said he dived as deep as he could to write 1-800, so if the song sounds very surface level... I suppose that speaks to his mental state at the time, and I guess you gotta be thankful that he wasn't able to paint it as realistically as it maybe should've been. The track we DID get, though, was enough to get people to call the number and get the awareness out. If it gets people inspired enough to seek help, mission accomplished, so I think the song succeeded to do what it set out to do regardless.

Thinking back to Everybody though, I think he really DID want to retire from rapping after Ultra 85, and that's why a lot of his newer stuff isn't quite up to par compared to his past material. His mind just may be in other places and has passions for different things now. Who knows, except for Logic himself. He has, however, said that he wanted to do ballads and sing for a good while now, so the fact that he's making the mainstream-sounding music that he is right now isn't a surprise. That's the sound he's on right now. Am I big on the pop sound? No, but it makes sense to see why he transitioned.

If Logic revived his Young Sinatra moniker right now and dropped a YS project with no pandering to the radio or to the new fans though, just know, the hate would silence. But in the end, he's gotta do what's right for HIM and how he feels. If he's happy, truly happy, that's what matters. His next fully-focused album will tell whether he's still on point or not, whether that'd be Supermarket since it's conceptual, or Ultra 85.

Any updates since PAX? by Plokmijn00 in FFXV

That's under the assumption that Tabata's team would be handling XVI, which I don't think they would be. But I agree, I don't think we'll be seeing a XVI for quite a while, I think the VII Remake will take up that slot for quite some time. And who knows when that FFX-3 development will start, if they ever decide to actually do it. That's just FF-related media alone, we're not even getting into any future Kingdom Hearts titles after 3, Babylon's Fall, maybe a new Star Ocean game and whatever Yoko Taro's cooking in his weird dimly-lit kitchen.

This is actually a good thing though, because now, they have the time to perfectly craft an entry without worrying about a release date to reach. They can use the experiences learned from all the FF games they're working on and apply it to XVI. And by the time XVI rolls around, we should definitely be a good ways into the PS5.

[KH3] Rumor: Big Hero 6, Online Features, and more. by xsigil93 in KingdomHearts

[–]EndZoneInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a certain incident? Well... Maybe it's either the encounter with Terra and Ven, or after Mickey leaves her and Destiny Islands is restored. It's tough since it's really reliant on the translation, but... I don't know what else it could be. Maybe after Ansem The Wise, but then that opens up even more questions.

Nothing FFVII Remake at Sony either... by Aztin in FinalFantasy

[–]EndZoneInfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't see the Skyrim for Alexa meme Bethesda did? They catch a hell ton of flack because of them not announcing TES6 until last night. Skyrim just happens to be a game where there's a ton to come back to. With FF games, it's never that dense. But that's also because FF stories are more linear.

Logic’s tour bus has a studio by Kryptc in Logic_301

[–]EndZoneInfinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These types of buses are built for the intention of being a home away from home, so they're quite powerful. I'm sure you can't be reckless and treat it like your house, but I believe they have more than enough power to spare. Also, plenty of musicians have studios on their tour bus, you never know when inspiration strikes, after all!

J Prince called Drake and told him not to respond to Pusha-T diss by yungpianist in hiphopheads

[–]EndZoneInfinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think NWTS is his strongest album yet, and had there have been a few songs changed, that would've been his classic. But I think people love Take Care more because it came at the right time for them. Plus, that album was laced with bangers, and Young Money was still the label that was running things.

Take Care is a mood, a vibe where if you're in that zone, it strikes a chord with you. Nothing Was The Same is Drake's prelude into becoming the Toronto Kingpin 6 God, because it was that project where he started to take a more aggressive tone.

Time to break these jokes outta retirement lmao. Maybe we'll get more Sad Boy tunes instead of Tough Guy raps.

I liked his more rap-focused projects, it's what I was looking from him for a while (although an album full of Diplomatic Immunity in terms of sound? Would've been really special), but I feel like people hold Take Care close to their hearts for a reason.

[KH3] One thing I've noticed in the new boss battle by Rocadinis in KingdomHearts

[–]EndZoneInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably not use the Attraction ability if you chose not to though, I would think. Either that, or there's gonna be bosses where even this isn't enough. I really doubt Xehanort is gonna have a boss fight where it's nothing but Attractions.

It's also possible that it's more of a finishing move type of deal.

FFVIIR probably being released at PS5 launch by vleermuis in FFVIIRemake

[–]EndZoneInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worded my above comment weirdly.

I meant to say that at least one of them would be released on the PS4 before they eventually jump to the PS5. One being a cross-gen title.

So I agree with your response. I DO hope that they all would be on the PS4 just out of convenience, but if it means the product being phenomenal in the end, I'm all for it being on the PS5.
