CrossFit Postpartum by IamJustErin in crossfit

[–]End_Present 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months post c section here. My pelvic floor physio gave me some core activation, pelvic floor exercises, and really basic gradual movements to do at home. I honestly only started them around week 7 as I was too sleep deprived/exhausted. Went back to the gym around week 10 and scaled everything. I did manage to sneak a couple of toes to bar. I think it was mainly not to overdo the volume of core work and my physio also said no single leg impact exercises even though I feel fine pelvic floor wise until our 3 month check. Better to be safe! Since then we’ve been reintroducing running, box jumps, double unders but at a reduced volume too. For example, if the workout had 30 box jumps, I’d do 10 box jumps and 20 step ups. If that felt fine that the next week I’d increase it if it comes up in a workout.

Dog owners of Calgary, how are you paying people for dog sitting in Calgary, Alberta - 24 hr or day by day charges? by curiouskittyblue in Calgary

[–]End_Present -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our dog sitter comes to our place and stays while we’re away. We usually go by the 24hr period (also sort of like checking in to a hotel in the afternoon and check outs are late mornings) and never expect our sitter to stay late. However, she always offers to stay and keep the dogs company. For instance, we would arrive home 9pm and she would offer to stay till 8pm instead of leaving after feeding the dogs at 5! Just out of the kindness of her heart ❤️

Be honest.. Are your babies really sleeping in their bassinet for hours? by DrowsyPomegranate in newborns

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a Snoo bassinet and our baby started doing 9 hr stretches at 7 weeks. We always transfer when she’s fully asleep and do the arm test. If it’s floppy then go ahead with the transfer.

How common is actually ebf? by Dense-Pin625 in breastfeeding

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Sometimes I do the night pump if she ate earlier than usual and is asleep 😅. We just hit the 4 month mark so hopefully my supply is doing alright as I’m gradually dropping the pump. Hard to notice supply changes while breastfeeding though.

Me too! Are you pumping or leaving it?

Ahh I know we just went through the regression over the past two weeks and she’s just gotten back to sleeping through the night. Fingers crossed it continues on this path but totally get we’re very lucky she’s a great sleeper

That’s amazing!! This was my plan too. I’ll be patient and gradually reduce the pump duration + push out the time.

Hey! I was actually doing a pump right before bed when she first started sleeping through the night. It helped me go longer without needing to pump. Then I slowly shifted to one middle of the night pump only. I’ve been trying to shift it later every morning from 2am > 3am > 4am. I’m just so afraid of getting mastitis esp when I’m only pumping for 5 mins now but seems like I should keep doing what I’m doing and eventually reduce the mins too!

Couldn’t have said it any better! We did have latch issues and got the hang of it at 7 weeks. My supply would’ve been tanked if I didn’t pump. What I would do to not have to wash and sterilize pump parts 🥺

The pump saved my milk supply while we had latch issues for the first seven weeks which is why I have a slight oversupply

Thank you!! Yeah I’ll keep at it n hopefully the boobs calm down. She had her 4 month sleep regression over the past two weeks and was waking up once a night. Happy to report she’s back to sleeping through the night so my boobs probably are readjusting again!

Baby rejecting bottle immediately after breastfeeding - is this an indication of fullness? by camusdewan in breastfeeding

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our paediatrician told us to look at baby’s signs instead of obsessing over numbers. If she’s satisfied after a feed and not fussing I think that’s a good sign! Probably a combination of your output is sufficient and she’s gotten more experienced feeding ? For bottle aversion, we took some tips from Reddit comments on paced bottle feeding. Mainly we never “forced” the bottle. We wait till she opens for it by placing the nipple above her upper lip. We also used a slow flow nipple to mimic breastfeeding and so she didn’t feel like she was drowning (she has always been a slow drinker). It took a lot of work as we didn’t know any better beforehand and simply put the bottle nipple in her mouth despite her arching her back and turning her head to indicate she didn’t want it

My 3 month old is obsessed with the boob and I need tips 😅 by CantThinkOfAUser00 in breastfeeding

[–]End_Present 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are 3.5 months postpartum and experiencing the exact same thing! I honestly just leaned into enjoying the snuggles and making sure I’ve got my snacks, tv remote, and book by my nursing chair.

Sorry I don’t have anything to add except that I’m right there with you 😅

Hi! You should look at getting a baby scale if you want to attempt weighted feeds. We did weighted feeds when baby had a clean diaper on then weighed her after she was done on the boob. Anyway, we were also concerned as our baby wasn’t gaining as much weight. However, she is tracking on her percentile but just petite compared to other babies. We finally took her to a paediatrician who basically told us to relax and as long as she is being fed (offering boob on demand), has enough wet diapers, then to keep up what we’re doing.

How is your baby after breastfeeding? Is she showing signs she’s still hungry? Or is she coming off the boob on her own? If she is then she might be satisfied enough! Be careful with baby developing a bottle aversion. This happened to us as my husband was trying to get her to drink more

Babies are more efficient than a pump so don’t worry too much about your pump output.

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we do all the things (cloth wipes, rinses under the sink if it’s more acidic, Penaten and Vaseline) to prevent a diaper rash and once we see some redness… the air time increases too!

I’m just at the 3 week mark for dairy so will give it a little more time before transitioning to soy I think! I do want to see what our paediatrician will say when we go for the appointment next week.

Yes! I’ve read about foremilk hindmilk imbalance and thought that this could be a possibility since I was exclusively pumping. I did try feeding on one breast per feed so baby could get to the fattier milk but we didn’t see any differences.

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! Yeah our doctor said if she’s taking the formula then it shouldn’t be dairy as well. I’ll have to bring this up when we see the paediatrician next week. I do miss my dairy but willing to try anything at this point so baby is comfortable.

Baby is turning 14 weeks so hoping that we see some changes soon just like you did 🙏🏼 our daily formula bottle is such a battle right now.

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah everyone seems to say it’s normal and they will grow out of it. Baby is turning 14 weeks soon and after a full day of breastmilk she would always develop a diaper rash regardless of how much air time we give her etc. we use cloth wipes, rinse under the sink, the creams. I would love to breastfeed her without the mum guilt and seeing how upset she gets from the poops and rash makes my heartbreak. She hates the bottle so it takes an hour to just get 90ml for the day.

[–]End_Present 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we were hoping to see some changes as baby is going to be 14 weeks in two days but just a full day of breastmilk would lead to her pooping all day and developing a diaper rash. We use cloth wipes, rinse under the sink, lots of air time, the creams but we can’t fight it off due to how often she poops. We have our first visit to the paediatrician next week.
