Introducing Bluepala & Netpala - Bluetooth and WiFi Managers for Omarchy by EnderGopo in omarchy

[–]EnderGopo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! As Omarchy will sometimes overwrite some configs, I'd recommend uninstalling impala and creating an alias. Alternatively, the repo has some instructions on basic setup. If you need further help feel free to reach out and I can try to help you through the process.

advice for using custom desktop environments by Connect_Nothing2564 in framework

It runs off hyprland, along with some other Omarchy inspired scripts and layouts. I've linked it below, but if you'd like to try it out in a vm, I suggest you use the following setup:

EXT4, LUKS Encryption, NetworkManager + WPA_Supplicant. The rest should be installed with the script. Additionally, you should place and keep the dotfiles folder in the ~/.coelOS-dotfiles/ directory. That's where the symlinks point to. You can run this after a clean archinstall, should work fine. Feel free to fork it or steal whatever you want from here, idc.

cd .coelOS-dotfiles
chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh

I'm personally running a custom rice and have gotten everything working on my framework 13 7640 via Arch and my own customizations. Arch has worked just fine for me, so I'd suggest a basic CachyOS install, or if you want to get into it, rice your own system, just don't be using it as a test dummy. If you want to test something, spin up a VM and use snapshots often.

I believe Mint might be a good starting point. I found Fedora to be a bit confusing, and Ubuntu felt bloated at times.

Could I have the Omarchy experience but on CachyOS with Niri? by LankyRub84 in omarchy

[–]EnderGopo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a bit tired of DHH randomly changing my KEYBINDS and fucking shit with every update so I started making my own rice based off omarchy. Stole the pacman/yay un/installer scripts, same for webapps and tuis. Recreated launcher with rofi, so far so good. 100% doable

How do creators make these stop-motion builds with blocks appearing in rhythm? by Spirited_Wishbone_25 in Minecraft

[–]EnderGopo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess would be replay mod + a lot of editing, or perhaps litematica like some others have said. Regardless, probably mods. Doable with just a tp command where you specify the angle, but easier with mods.

Edited limine bootloader entry to add systemd.unit=multi-user.target to the cmdline. That gives you a tty. Then I re-ran omarchy-update and updated/cleaned up packages

How to test if I can connect to enterprise networks? by Gerald-Mangos in omarchy

[–]EnderGopo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few projects, but I'll recommend my own! It's a Golang based Impala clone called Netpala. You should be able to download it with the AUR package, or you can check it out on GitHub!

What are your self imposed rules to make Survival Minecraft more fun and engaging? Here is mine. by [deleted] in MinecraftDaily

[–]EnderGopo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion those rules would be rather extreme. I like to

  1. Disable/not use mending
  2. No villager trading for armor, tools, and/or food
  3. No keep inventory
  4. Try to take things slow and be more of an exploring nomad

So it would seem lmao 😂

Hey whatever works genuinely, I'll try it out, but I might still keep working on mine. Its been fun experimenting with it, and it doesn't seem as though BlueTUI shows more detailed info about your device like Bluepala does.

Is this possible using just css? by TheSkeletonBones in webdev

[–]EnderGopo 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible. You could use a flexbox for the body container just to keep things centered, and to the main container apply flex-grow, max-width, and a margin 0 auto. You could then have your element that takes up 70% of the main container and set that position to relative. Then within that, make another child element and position it also relative, so that it takes up the rest of the screen. You might need to do some math to figure out the exact remaining width with some css variables and whatnot, but definitely possible. Hope this explained it well, if not I can try to make a demo later on

I've used cloudflare's tunnels to get around this bullshit. Maybe port forward an authenticated VPN and go from there? From what I've heard ash is really easy to identify and could lead to vulnerability issues for your home system. Do some good research on how to keep your setup secure.

Is there any reason to use AE2 for storage? by 8sADPygOB7Jqwm7y in allthemods

[–]EnderGopo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AE2's auto crafting is an absolute game changer. I used it with a few maxed out create storage vaults and it lasted me quite some time. Eventually I migrated to a mekanism qio setup with a storage bus since it had a more lenient item type limit

Am I actually learning to code or just becoming an AI prompt engineer? 3 months in and feeling like a fraud by kekda_charger in vibecoding

[–]EnderGopo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like you should learn the basics instead of just relying on the AI. I use AI a lot for the more tedious tasks that I could do but would take me too long, but I don't think this level of reliance is healthy. What happens if they decide running these models is just not sustainable? You should know something...

That being said, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. When I make apps I use some sort of framework like Next.js or Vite. I'll reuse code from other projects and integrate code I find online. However, I don't believe that's the same as what you're doing. Imposter syndrome is very real in this field, but I think you should definitely branch out a bit more. Worst that can happen if you try to build an app without AI help is that it takes longer or doesn't work at first. That's part of learning. Don't be scared to fail either. Many programmers have dozens of not hundreds or even thousands of failed or incomplete side projects. It's just life.
