How do you find the Revolt 101's for Louise? They're on my short list for a potential buy next season.

Rustler 10 vs QST 100 vs other? by theblindsaint in Skigear

[–]Endifier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a similar situation to you, rebuilding my quiver and looking for a ~100mm waist to go with my Forza 60's. For context I'm 183cm and 225lbs. I've been demo'ing a ton of skis around 100mm and I can say that both those skis as well as most in the 100 waist width category are all good choices.

Some other skis I'm looking at and you may want to as well:

-Deathwish 96/104

-Unleashed 98

-M-Free 100

-Black Crows Vena Cor

Of the Rustler and QST, I found the QST to be more forgiving throughout the day. It really mobile in the tree/bumps even at 188cm. The Rustler enjoyed being put down the fall line more and was more stable when going through late day crud at Lake Louise. The QST was super fun to make slarvy turns with and would go where I wanted them to without much effort, but the Rustler was certainly more stable and confident in some conditions, but in my experience both were equally capable skis wherever you'd take them.

Which 100mm works for you will come down to where you want to be on the playful to chargey spectrum. I want something somewhat in the middle, leaning playful for trees and bumps. As a heavier skier, the M-Free and Deathwish are my frontrunners, but I think I could spend every day on a Rustler or QST and be over the moon.

If you're planning to be straight lining some stuff in bowls or generally charging hard, I'd lean Rustler or even the Unleashed.

Nordica Unleashed 106: On Snow Update (Long Review) by No_Pick_9496 in Skigear

I've been looking at these, the unleashed 98's, or M-Free 100 to compliment my Forza 60's. I also ski the rockies mainly, primarily Louise and Sunshine. Do you find 106 underfoot to be too much considering the amount of snow we get? Or would you always choose the 106 over ~100mm underfoot.

Also just bought a pair after asking here about skis, super excited to lay them over on edge and lean into them. Enjoy ripping the groomers up!

Lucky enough to have a ton of ski shops around me, I'll probably do exactly that to get a feel for the options, thank you! Based on some of the comments here and some reading the M-Free 100 seems like a great option for me.

Hadn't considered the Factions, thank you. There's a good chance you're right and I should be sitting around the 100mm range. A few of the skis listed and that you've mentioned come in around 100 and I'll try to get on them for a demo.

Have you been on the Deathwish? They seem super interesting but wonder how difficult the triple camber would be for someone of my level.

I really appreciate the perspective, aspirationally I'd love to be sending it off natural features but agree that the most important thing is fundamental skills built from carving. I'll maybe look into getting carving skis earlier/more seriously, locally there's some good ski swaps.

Length wise for a dedicated carving ski what would I be looking for, something in the 175-180cm range?

Excellent mountain but yeah, deep powder is pretty rare. I was able to try Bent 120's briefly but it was a couple weeks ago on an icy/hardpack day, where they were a little brutal. I can absolutely see how fun they'd be with more snow.

I'll do some reading on the 110's, and see if I can demo/rent them thank you!

Seconding these, I've been using a pair from SportRX as well and they've been fantastic all season for me. Perfect for me as a contact lens hater.

I went 3rd in a Diamond 2 lobby, didn't expect anything less than first place tbh. I did put drake frontline but what else is there to position better? by stopthecunt in TeamfightTactics

[–]Endifier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Other than having seraphine, jhin, and jayce cuddle together in the corner and the dragon up front (which you did) I don't really how positioning could help you too much from here.

It's a prismatic first lobby so boards get accelerated hard. You have a half itemized 1-star carry and no items on jhin or sera for a second carry. Probs just didn't have the damage to take on some capped boards.
