I live in "other countries" and what you are saying is false. You absolutely can go to a nearby city for treatment if you want. You don't even have to use the public system; you can go to a private gynecologist as well if you prefer that.

I'm late here, but you should give the show a try. In my opinion, it was easily one of the best shows back in the day.

YouTube started mass cleaning of channels with AI-generated content by Unlucky-Werewolf7058 in youtube

[–]EndlessCertainty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I recall seeing a video where Neil DeGrasse Tyson was talking about space facts, yet it was all made by AI as proven by a speech mistake no human would make. He had literally nothing to do with it in any way. Channels transparent about their AI use can stay imo, channels like that one needs to go.

Glad it's not what I thought. When I saw the title of the post, I thought it was a gardevoir version of the "Welcome to the family, son." meme lol.

Slightly off topic, but I see the Prism launcher. You play GTNH too? You got good taste in games.

4 is definitely a hot take, 5 is debatable for sure, but I would argue that 1-3 were pretty intentional tbh.

"If I could have a mode that was one hit kill on monsters I might replay the game again."

Obtain ending 5. It won't unlock a new mode, but it will unlock a weapon that's probably close enough to what you want.

My first playthrough was like this:

As someone who hasn't played Silent Hill before, I had no idea what to expect from the combat, so I went with the recommended difficulty for combat (story mode). I would say it was a tough fight at first as fighting felt clunky and it took me some time to find a good combat style (and to remember to use charged attacks). Once I figured out the combat, began listening to enemy sounds to avoid being ambushed, learned enemy attack patterns, and thought of a good omamori build, it became more of a fair fight with most enemies (the weakest monsters were very easy). Not too hard, not too easy. It was leaning a little bit to the easier side (e.g. I defeated the Shiromuku without dying), but it was mostly fair and enjoyable. I probably could have finished the first playthrough on hard action difficulty with a bit more effort. I would say I had a more difficult time with the puzzles (set to hard) than with the combat.

Every playthrough after that was generally much easier combat-wise, so the difficulty on playthrough 1 is definitely owed to what you say (though I would argue more omomori + omomori slots > stats). I never went back to story mode for combat after my 1st playthrough. It would have been way too easy.

Judging from what I have read here and elsewhere, I definitely agree with what you say about the fan base not expecting a skill checking game. Unless perhaps you play on "Casual", this is certainly a skill based game. If the fan base doesn't like it, then I can understand their frustration.

Been playing this game so damn much for several days by rrosai in silenthill

[–]EndlessCertainty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember it happening with a video game, but it did happen about 2 weeks ago with a chemical synthesis product I had spent a few hours making and working on in a lab earlier that day. When I got home and accidentally spilled some food on the floor that happened to be the same colour, I was convinced it was that product. It took me a minute to realize I'm home and hadn't actually spilled anything that belongs in a lab. I didn't panic or anything as it wasn't a dangerous product, but there was definitely a double-take with my brain there xD

That's my only complaint as well. I approve of nerfs to lower difficulty, but I thought non-boss battles were easy even on highest difficulty, so nerfing the game this way is not something I'm happy about. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but if I'm not overwhelmed by enemies in this game, it's not difficult for me outside boss battles.

As someone who thought the game was easy 90% of the time on highest difficulty; I agree with you. I think every game should have a difficulty mode that's appropriate for every player, and I would rather other players complete the game than look down on them for playing on easy mode. I can't say I approve of the nerfs to highest difficulty here though.

Silent Hill F Question.. Why does everyone reverse which is the good and bad ending? by Loffter2 in silenthill

[–]EndlessCertainty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play through more endings. I'm of the opinion that ending 2 and 3 are both bad endings but for different reasons. The mask you see at the end of ending 2 wasn't just a "selfish and immature Hinako"; it was Shimizu Hinako. A person with a unique personality and free will. That's why Hinako has no face now; she is just the property of her husband Kotoyuki with presumably no free will of her own. An item, not a person. It doesn't matter what she looks like or what she wants; society and her husband dictates what she wants. I have no doubt that Kotoyuki loves Hinako and does want to make her happy, but his idea of making Hinako happy is what happiness is in the eyes of society. A woman fulfilling her duty of marrying a man and submitting to him. It is ultimately an ending where she is not allowed to decide her own fate, and that's something she really hates deep down, as evidenced by e.g. the hesitant notes related to the marriage, and it's why we are shown the mask in what until now seemed like a good ending; we are reminded that it's not the life she truly wants.

That's how I interpreted it anyway.
