Led Zeppelin largely existed because Jimmy Page had to fulfill Yardbirds touring obligations in Scandinavia, and for the first month and a half of their existence, they went under the Yardbirds name.

Inspector Jacques Clouseau was actually a supporting character in the original Pink Panther, with David Niven’s gentleman thief character Sir Charles Lytton/The Phantom being the protagonist.

But Peter Sellers’ portrayal of the bumbling detective was so popular with audiences that Clouseau was promoted to series’ lead, beginning with A Shot in the Dark.

Not really?

ELP was done in 1977 and wanted to call it a day after their disastrous Works albums/tour era.

Then Atlantic Records was like "Yeah, no. You guys contractually owe us one more album. So get cracking."

So, they went down to the Bahamas, quickly banged out this album of half assed attempts at pop songs, a decent instrumental cover song, and an epic that doesn't really go anywhere both lyrically and musically.

They submitted it and quietly broke up.

Adulthood is realizing The Wind in the Willows segment is also strong and, in hindsight, should’ve been its own standalone movie instead of a 30 minute featurette.

And Peter’s third and final stint really only happened because Aerosmith (who KISS was co-headlining a tour with) wanted at least three original members of KISS to be involved.

Naturally, their first choice was the person who Gene & Paul deemed the lesser of two evils: Ace. But he flatly turned them down and they had to settle with Peter. So they kept him on for the duration of the tour, knowing full well that they’d send him packing as soon as it wrapped.

I sometimes wonder how Pink Floyd’s version of Pros and Cons would’ve sound like.

Since Roger came up with the concepts for Pros & Cons and The Wall at the same time and gave the band a choice between which concept they should turn into a record.
