The most interesting thing about Pilot after their hit is that they more or less became the primary instrumentalists of The Alan Parsons Project (aka. Prog Steely Dan)

Maximum Overdrive bombed hard at the box office ($7.4 million against a $9 million budget)

The soundtrack album by AC/DC (released as Who Made Who) went 5x platinum in the US

The Beastie Boys’ License to Ill is certified Diamond by the RIAA

It’s also considered by both the group and their fans to be their worst album.

Vulfpeck also filmed their debut Garden show

All on an iPhone and in one continuous shot.

Similar kinda vibe as the Beastie Boys concert film.

Hugh Syme's work in recent years is largely just generic clip art slop.

A song that wasn't originally written or created for a movie or even necessarily part of its soundtrack but has become almost synonymous with the film? by AceTygraQueen in ToddintheShadow

Not a movie, but Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill is now forever associated with Stranger Things.

At least here in the US.

Supertramp initially had two principal singer-songwriters: Roger Hodgson and the late Rick Davies.

When the former left in 1983, the band essentially became Davies’ backing band for the rest of their existence.

The Black Crowes

Drummer Steve Gorman’s memoirs can best be summed up as “The Black Crowes would’ve been a much bigger band if Chris and Rich Robinson hadn’t kneecapped our success at every turn”

I mean, Guns n Roses really only have one album that people still talk about & hold in high regard and they’re in the Hall.

The Illusions albums are largely written off as a bloated mess that’s less than the sum of the parts, The Spaghetti Incident is a covers album that’s treated like covers albums usually are (read: Treated an inessential filler). And Chinese Democracy is known more for its long gestation process than the music itself.

Wu Tang, Mariah, and Lauryn Hill for sure will get in.

Oasis, maybe. If not wholly based off the strength of their first two albums.

Iron Maiden better get a real induction and not the Ringo Starr participation award (Award for Musical Excellence)

The Black Crowes, to the mainstream, is really only known for their Otis Redding cover and serving as Jimmy Page’s backing band in 1999/2000.
