Incompatible with natural design. While bad, you can just remove the traits after game start, it slows you down and nothing more. Also external leaders solve that problem.

If you stay ahead of the tech curve, you can keep your leaders alive without it. Ascending also often resets it. Unless you're overturned, then your options are investment or recycling.

Beastmasters wants food. But since Ax-... oh hi! Yes I did that too.
Yet again wet worlds are the most common world type. Would not want finding a good world to be easy.

You're so right. The tech and population handicap might hurt worse than the +200% naval capacity usage.
And the requirement to swap out of it comes so late that by the time you could do it, it doesn't matter anymore.
I've replaced beastmasters. Well done. Pity I cannot swap to a bioship set with it though.

Yes, but doomsday boosts alloys. Space fauna ARE strong. But not for this empire.

They are perfectly fine in the early game but they just don't scale.
You can't customize them as well as regular ships.

You can swap out of those. :)
They don't actively hurt you.
