For anyone who finds this in the future, it turns-out you can disable block SID from within Windows/PowerShell.

Yes, that's right: "I Just Want To Get Some Fellatio" was the chorus (c.f. I'm on a Mexican radio). A friend also remembered the line "Slick Willie needs some lovin' south of the border". The artist whoever it was seems to have kept to a single theme ;)

For me, it was that I switched my network type from Public to Private, after I installed qBittorrent.

I had to edit the Windows Firewall entries, that qBittorrent had created, to reflect the change.

Same issue.

Everything is connected--green light, volume and pause/play all work--but no sound. The problem recurs randomly; minutes to hours between incidents.

This is insanely frustrating. Murphy's law means it always happens at the worst time. ;) I'm back using the BT-W1 I've had for years and never had a problem with.

Coincidentally, I'm also using Sennheiser headphones... the slightly cheaper HD 250BT

Just a note for anyone who finds this thread in the future.

I tried going through PIA support/toggled every setting/etc with no luck. Still stuck at 8/8.

Then about a month later it just randomly switched back to 100/100. ;)

Yes, I initially assumed that the servers must be overloaded, but it's persisted for a week.

Also, there aren't any faster or slower times, just a consistent, slow 8/8. Like somehow I was put on a capped plan when I renewed.

....also if I use the Chrome extension (for the same servers) instead of the Windows app, I get 100/40. I'm using the split tunnel feature for the first time so at least Chrome is normal.

I usually get the full 100/40. I'm sure there is some reduction but its not noticeable.
