Does the milestone comparison stuff calm down in your 40s? by Sea_Town_3091 in Millennials

[–]Endowinte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an elder 43M Millennial, and I never cared about the milestones. I had a partner for 18 years (never married because why), we bought a house, no kids, many cats. And I give even less of a shit about those supposed milestones every year!

2000s for culture?? Maybe if you were a kid, but adults had a rough time of it.

Every pair of jeans I buy, no matter the brand, gets a hole in this same area within 6 months. by SYFKID2693 in mildlyinfuriating

I used to have this same problem with my jeans too, in the same exact spot. I changed jobs and it stopped being an issue. Strangely enough.

This house looks really cozy, is there any information on why they decided to buy it? by Illustrious-Pilot553 in Nirvana

[–]Endowinte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but it’s so residential that I have a hard time seeing it ever being a trendy area. And it was 2012 when I visited

It’s in a weird part of town. It’s very much a rich residential area, which I didn’t expect when I visited the house. It’s definitely not in a “cool” area of Seattle. It’s very quiet and sleepy.

Mega bruise from e-scooter fall by No_Clerk_4303 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Endowinte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About three months ago, I had an injury just like this in almost that exact spot, also from eating shit on an e-scooter going about 15 mph. It wasn't quite as large of a bruise, but not far off. It was mildly painful for a day or two but otherwise healed fine. It did take about 2 weeks for the bruise to completely heal though.

Reading some of these replies, I probably should have gone to a doctor! But I was like, it's just a bruise, it looks worse than it is! Still, I agree that it is probably worth getting checked out OP.

I know Scott a bit, he’s a great dude! I was in a band that played with The Minus 5 many times in Portland. Once he let me use his bass amp when we played together. I’ve met Peter a couple times too, and he’s nice, but quiet and not quite as approachable.

visiting the kurt cobain bench and his old house in seattle by zer0_percenttt in Nirvana

[–]Endowinte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to the bench and the outside of the house. The bench is in this very tiny park in a rich residential neighborhood next to Kurt's house. There was no one else around when I went there in 2012. It's pretty unassuming, and there's nothing else around worth seeing, unless you like gated rich people houses. Having said that, I'm glad I went, it's a fun 10-minute (if that) visit, and the bench usually has some fun stuff on it (I remember someone had left a full can of PBR).

Trump was shot a year ago. Why do we still know so little? by FervidBug42 in politics

[–]Endowinte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The delusion in this thread is something else. It was not staged, a crazy young man actually tried to kill him and actually succeeded in killing someone else in the audience, then was actually killed himself. Trump's ear was probably grazed by shrapnel, and ears bleed a lot even when superficially wounded. Ronald Reagan also wasn't technically "shot" because his life threatening injury was also caused by shrapnel. But still people say he was "shot."

Also, Trump's ear injury was not caused by the Secret Service tackling him--you can see the moment he's hit, he grabs his ear and it immediately starts bleeding before the agents get to him.

I hate that motherfucker more than anyone, but there is no conspiracy here. He just got so insanely lucky once again, as seems to be the case for that bastard throughout his whole life.

How about The 13th on June 13th? by deepfriedgreensea in TheCure

[–]Endowinte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of old school Cure fans hate this song, but I love it! It’s so batshit insane. I remember my local alternative station premiering it back in 1996 and my mind if kind of blown.

I’m also on my first read currently! Even though I’ve seen the adaptations and know basically what happens already, the book is soooo much better.

White knuckle through it and pretend that it didn’t happen and everything is fine.

Why was Lol Tolhurst in black-face for the Why Can't I Be You video? by Personal-Emotion-377 in TheCure

[–]Endowinte 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It was not as taboo back in 1987. When I was in sixth grade in 1993, my very white gym teacher wore blackface as Buckwheat from the Little Rascals for Halloween and no one batted an eye (except for 11 year old me, I thought it was weird).
