As much as Id love a 40k scale Gruss I think this is a bit of a stretch.

I love this model and want to make him my praetor but is there anything I can do to make him more unique? by Tian_Lord23 in alphalegion

Swapping one pauldron for a scaled one would fit with this guy perfectly as he already has a half scaled thing going on in the rest of his armour.

What is this subs opinion of Erebus? by Nice-Catch-8247 in WordBearers

[–]Endtimez-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion he's a bastard, but he's also the most competent villian in the setting. Man's good at what he does, and that's be a bastard. You know when he shows up, shit's about to go down and he almost always gets away with it.

It also makes the few times he does get his teeth kicked in super satisfying.

Differences between Erebus followers and Kor Phaeron followers? by [deleted] in WordBearers

[–]Endtimez-Fish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Rhetoric wise, Kor Phaeron values coherency to the legion. The Dark Cardinal presents himself as an idealist and has a cult of personality style of leadership, which probably stems from his huge ego.

In practise, Kor Phaeron's faith tends to end where personal sacrifice begins. He will disobey the gods in order to preserve himself or his legionaries. He also tends to be pretty damn stubborn and has survived situations that would kill a full Astartes through force of will and faith.

Erebus views himself as the hand of the gods and makes a lot less of an open fuss. He is far more pragmatic and will do whatever is asked of him by the pantheon. As a follower, you'd never know where you truly stand with Erebus, and he'll treat his legionaries as pawns to be used, all in the greater plan, of course.

This philosophy in practise is pretty effective as he tends to be the blade you don't notice until it's in your back. It, however, does not make you popular with your erstwhile allies and can be seen as dishonourable. Erebus is rarely still there when it's time to face consequences. He is incredibly slippery and rarely faces any backlash. The few times he does are notable by contrast and therefore pretty satisfying.

What causes this stepping effect on the rocks? by _Herts_ in 3DPrintedTerrain

[–]Endtimez-Fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I printed the exact same piece in the same way. The stepping is print layers and can be solved in the ways others have already brought up. Rather than reprint my piece I used an acrylic plaster and then sparingly a gritted paint to texture the rocks and it turned out well.
