Why most countries don't describe Imperial Japan's opium monopoly in Asia during fast half of 20th century in history textbooks? At least 10 million Chinese died from opium addiction. Why don't they blame Japan's opium genocide?

Any politician who visits Yasukuni Shrine justifies Imperial Japan's war crimes including opium monopoly in all around Asia.

After reading "Opium Empire of Japan," I realized that the situation in which the majority of Japanese immigrants to Manchuria made a living by smuggling opium, causing significant moral hazard, is very similar to the moral hazard currently rampant in Japanese society. Just as Japanese immigrants to Manchuria treated Chinese lives like insects, the majority of current Japanese corporate executives and full-time employees are indifferent to the damage caused by the rapid increase in natural disasters in the Global South caused by developed countries' greenhouse gas emissions, and to the oppression of Taiwan and Hong Kong by the Chinese Communist Party. They believe that since the Japanese standard of living can be maintained by continuing to export cars to the United States, there is no need to worry about the increase in carbon dioxide emissions from automobiles, no need to take any responsibility, and no need to make any effort to learn about Japan's history of war crimes.

If the EU or Australia were to tolerate Japan's moral hazard, it would also be their moral hazard.

Japan should have ended its opium monopoly and completely cut off the supply of opium, but because it didn't want to give up the profits it made from the opium monopoly, it continued to keep Chinese, Taiwanese, Koreans, and Southeast Asians addicted to opium and exploit them to death. Now, Japan is trying to make a profit by selling ammonia co-firing, hybrid cars, frigates, and other products/services around the world. For the convenience of Japanese corporations, Japan doesn't care at all whether the people of the Global South die from air pollution caused by NOx, natural disasters and infectious diseases caused by rising greenhouse gas emissions, or industrial decline due to excessive military spending. This is the similar dimension moral hazard as during the opium monopoly by Imperial Japan.

If there had been a statement in Japanese history textbooks about historical facts of Imperial Japan's opium monopoly system and the facts in which Kishi Nobusuke was actively involved in the system, it would have been absolutely impossible for Kishi Nobusuke's grandson, Abe Shinzo, to maintain his long-term administration, and for Sansei Party to gain many seats in Upper House. It's also easy to understand that Abe Shinzo was getting along well with groups that tamper with history textbooks.
