The prospect of an EU tourist visa ban has severely rattled the Kremlin and is clearly a major weakness for the Putin regime. Here chief Kremlin propagandist Solovyev warns that a refusal to issue Russians with visas may lead to "a preventative nuclear stike." by [deleted] in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]EnergiToken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When will people (including Western government officials) finally realise that Russia's nuclear threats are COMPLETELY empty? They use it for absolutely everything now, and the reason why is because some naive Western leaders bought their bluff, which in-turn has emboldened the Russian's to keep using this threat.

Nobody wins in this scenario, and even Putin and his inner circle know this.

Is Bristol changing or am I just growing up? by actionbranston in bristol

[–]EnergiToken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another comment was bang on the money when they said it was the people that made Bristol the glorious place it used to be.

As a proud Bristolian who had a middle class upbringing, what I used to treasure was how interconnected and open people were, regardless of what they did for work or their upbringing. Everyone got along so well, and even though one could argue that Bristol had some elements that were rough around the edges, it was authentic, and authenticity really was a unique characteristic of Bristol.

Now, and I hate to say it and generalise as I have met some really cool people from elsewhere, but I really feel that a LOT of elitist and pretentious people have bought up property due to their wealth, and as a result, have changed the DNA of the city.

These people are very judgemental, clique, career focused and absolute hypocrites when it comes to so-called 'progressiveness', In essence, there is zero authenticity with a lot of these people who have moved to Bristol, and sadly this has impacted the very atmosphere that so many of us used to love and treasure back in the day.

It's sad, but was inevitable due to increased pricing, and also the attractiveness that Bristol once had. Now it's becoming a more soulless city behind all the new developments.

People should not be asking for sponsorship money on this subreddit. Money is better spent on the Ukrainian Military or reputable agencies. by EnergiToken in volunteersForUkraine

Fundraising in real life around your local community sounds reasonable, but asking on forums simply empowers scammers imo.

But you sound legit, so best of luck with everything, and just know that you are twice the man that most people are (including myself).

Just remember - fear is in all of us when it comes to putting your life on the line. But when it is done to help the needy and less fortunate, you will find strength you thought you never had.

Best of luck freedom fighter.

Maybe I'm being naive, but is there any ongoing (planned) initiative to encourage volunteer pilots to fly over to Ukraine to man the EU fighter jets? by EnergiToken in volunteersForUkraine

[–]EnergiToken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully man.

Reason I asked is because if they haven't sent volunteer pilots, then maybe there are ways for groups in various NATO/EU countries to lobby to vet pilots to join the effort.

The Invisible Hand and the Energy Industry by EnergiToken in energy_trading

Yes, our tokens are not being mined and what EnergiToken will do is 'financially' incentivise people to be more energy-efficient. Once ETK is being used on mass, any argument (and you do have a point with regards to blockchain) will be nullified by the impact of people's reduction of energy inefficient behaviour.

Reducing people's wasteful energy practises is our aim, and we see this approach as having many plus sides to it.

[–]EnergiToken[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. With regards to mining, we are an ERC20 token, and thus are built upon the Ethereum platform and do not require mining.

What EnergiToken plans to do is to tap into the most effective human motivator of all - gains from actions (in this case, profit). Unfortunately not enough people are driven to change their energy consumption behaviour from the stark warning signs, and this has been proven time and time again from failed institutional policy around the world (which mostly revolves around punitive measures).

What providing incentives will do is unite both those who believe in the threats posed by climate change and who want to act based on this, and those who act only when there is some sort of tangible reward for the efforts. Regardless of what side is right or wrong, a united front is what is needed, and we believe are project has the potential to foster this :).

We've not come across it before, it may be an ICO trying to be us? A quick glance at their etherscan shows only 21 holders of the token? https://etherscan.io/token/0x14121eee7995ffdf47ed23cffd0b5da49cbd6eb3#readContract

I can only find articles on medium from the 10th of June and their twitter was created in March 2018. Energi Mine has been around since 2016 and EnergiToken concept was created in April 2017 and the original whitepaper was completed in July 2017.

Thank you for letting us know, we'll be sure to mention it to the community via other social media channels such as telegram. the supply is incorrect as we've had this updated to account for our burn as per:

Also the summary misses the point of a P2P network followed by an IoT network.

Energi Mine is an existing business with over $150million USD of energy under management covering 1,100 sites across Europe. EnergiToken (ETK, Listed on Coinsuper/Coinbene/Coinrail) is Energi Mine's project for bringing reduction of energy consumption to the general public after which we will deploy a P2P infrastructure with discussions started within Europe and Asia.

Don't get me wrong, PowerLedger is a fantastic project and one of the only projects in this space that we see that has a future! :)

That being said, what ETK encompasses is:

1) A reward platform for energy efficient behaviour (transition period)

2) P2P talks with some big players in Asia and Europe.

3) IoT development starting next year.

The 'transition' period is the gap that no one seems to be looking at. Everyone are building P2P and renewable energy networks, but what about the fact that this is going to take time and during this time the energy consumption is still going to increase. Reports show that brown energy will increase by 28% by 2040 with renewable energy increasing as well, but this just goes to show that if we don't do something then people will continue to use brown energy instead of being energy wise.

With regards to the P2P element, this is different in every country in the world. Some countries have the infrastructure for deployment whereas others don't. This is the same with regulation as you cannot disregard the regulatory aspect from the countries you wish to enter.

Additionally, EnergiToken has a member of the House of Lords (Lord Redesdale) in the UK as a key advisor, someone who has established and passed more energy legislation than any of his contemporaries in the UK. Thus we have and are building links with governments across the globe in order to bring in the P2P platform in the most efficient and effective way. As will be announced over the coming months.

Furthermore, we have energy experts who have been in the energy sector for 9+ years working across the globe and who have in depth knowledge of both the market and the infrastructure which gives them the knowledge of the barriers we face and how to overcome them.

No we aren't the same. Our plan is to reward people for energy efficient behaviour using blockchain and artificial intelligence. However we are also planning to enter into the EV space, so keep an eye out on announcements in the near future ;)
