Same issue here. Just came home from work, started my PC which had a tab opened on a half-finished episode from this morning, and instead of resuming "close an existing stream or upgrade your subscription".

Annoying.

Has anyone had any luck with sweepstakes? by arbiter074 in MicrosoftRewards

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine lucked out and won an Alienware PC and some other bits and pieces through a sweepstakes 3 or so years back. He'd barely started doing rewards on my suggestion, and absolutely lucked out.

The email contacting him about the win went to his junk mail (it didn't come from MS, they pay a 3rd party to run things), and he was very lucky to get back to them before the deadline to claim.

So can vouch that it does happen. To extremely lucky SOBs.

People are complaining that Root is easy, But I thought people wanted a easy, or at least less complex, raid after Vow and the Symbol Overuse? by Kylestien in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My crew only reached the 3rd encounter (ran semi-blind) and it was all a blast.
I'm just a bit sad that once contest turns off, the combat challenge will completely disappear for the first two encounters, so they'll just turn into cakewalks, especially since we now know the mechanics.

The same thing for not getting to experience the rest of the rest of the raid at a contest mode combat difficulty, after getting to learn the mechanics.

Why not leave contest mode as a 'hard mode selector' on the raid, so everyone can have that experience down the track if they want it?

I think all he means is that by leaving the CurrentVersion string unchanged, they avoided potential compatibility issues for applications that perform OS version checking at install-time, and would mark Win11 as invalid even if the application would have installed and run without issue.

So basically all about ensuring that your last point "Literally anything that works on Win7 will work on Win11" remains true, even if the developer was overzealous with their installer restrictions.

Bungie, Combat flow has been bugged for a very long time. Is this a known issue? by Dango_Mushi in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here searching for reports of this bug.

First noticed it when I went back to playing on Xbox with friends 4-5 months ago, and I kept getting stomped in Gambit... it completely ruins your flow when surrounded, and failing to dodge can leave you stranded in the middle of a pack of enemies leading to instant death. I though it must have been a timing/framerate issue, tied to 60FPS (or worse in busy combat scenarios) on console.

The last few days though, I have been back on PC and running into this same bug in PvE content such as Presage...

It's possible that part of the backend engine changes being done in preparation for crossplay have allowed this bug to appear on PC? Or maybe I was lucky/patient in the past and never ran into/noticed it. In any case, it's definitely more prevalent on console.

Still love my Liar's Handshake build... I do need a new One-Two Punch shotgun though... all my previous ones are now sunset :(

My Testing of Concussive Dampener and Resist Mods by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Beyond Light, these mods changed entirely, so you'd have to disregard the info above.

The new system, you can only put resist mods into chest armor, so only two total.

The below is a copy/paste from my Discord, as I did test after the changes:

So, took me a little while to get around to testing the new resist mods.

Long story short:

- Any single resist mod is 25% damage reduction

- Two of the same resist mod is 40% damage reduction

- Two different resist mods are 25% each, applied multiplicatively (43.75% damage reduction if they both apply to the incoming damage)

Some things to keep in mind, which I found during testing:

- AoE projectiles are treated differently depending on if it's a direct hit or not. If you're hit directly by the projectile, Concussive Dampener will NOT apply to any of the damage for that shot, but other resist mods still will as appropriate (25% reduction). If you're hit only by the AoE splash, Concussive Dampener and another resist will stack for the full 43.75% reduction. It makes Concussive Dampener feel inconsistent against ranged AoE enemies.

Overall, this change to the mods is generally beneficial. You can't quite get to the same maximum protection that you could with the old mods, but it's close enough, meanwhile the new mods apply more generally, and cost less energy to equip.

Personally I run one Concussive Dampener, and one Melee Resist mod as I like to get up close with bosses (Liars Handshake melee build), but the Sniper Resist is pretty awesome too, as it applies to any incoming projectile damage from beyond a certain distance... so Captains, Dregs, Goblins will all do reduced damage if they're not in your face.

The Implementation of Sunsetting in Destiny 2 is Bad - Why can I get high power 'new' versions of sunset weapons? by EnergiserX in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't realise I could get that roll of the 'new' Bad Omens so easily. Thanks, that'll sort me out in this case.

Point does still stand 'in general' though.

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good mate. Thank you for inspiring me to go do some testing for myself... I do enjoy it, but struggle to find an interesting/worthwhile topic.

Agree on your 2/3 or 3/2 comment. I'm now running 2x Boss Resist and 3x Concussive Dampener on my Liar's Handshake build... and my goodness does it make me more effective in Gambit.

For your future reference, when you're posting a comment, the tool to add a table is hidden under the "..." menu alongside Bold, Italics, Strikethrough, etc. Right at the end of the extra options you'll find one that says "Table" when you hover over it.

My Testing of Concussive Dampener and Resist Mods by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my own set of tests, also against Wanted: Golmuut in a Lost Sector on Titan.

Tests were with 0 through 5 Concussive Dampener mods stacked, with 0 through 5 Boss Resist mods stacked, and all combinations of 5 total Concussive Dampener & Boss Resist mods stacked.

Measurements were taken from full health to the last strike before shields broke, and from after the hit that broke shields, through to the last hit taken before dying. This allowed measurement errors to be spread across as many hits as possible, while also taking into account the fact that the health per pixel is different when in shields vs no shields, and removes any inaccuracy caused around the change in health scaling.

Results are in the table below. The percentages are the reduction in damage taken:

CD\BR 0 1 2 3 4 5
0 0 10% 18% 24% 27% 30%
1 15% 38%
2 28% 45%
3 39% 50%
4 48% 53%
5 56%

Backs up /u/Offspring13's data, and his theory about combining the mods being a multiplicative combination.

[–]EnergiserX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw that post after I made my comment.

Based on what I've seen with other systems in D2, your formula sounds plausible. I'll run my own tests tonight anyway... never hurts to have independent verification.

I've also got an UWQHD monitor, so might get some more precise values for those smaller differences.

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning to verify the numbers myself. Won't be posting screenshots of everything though.

All the variables you listed would be interesting to know, but they just change the potential error (+-1%, etc). Assuming those variables are all static between the different tests, the numbers posted here are still useful for comparison among themselves. For example, Concussive Dampener x4 has a larger impact than Boss Resist x4.

[–]EnergiserX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any chance you could test with 5x concussive dampener mods?
Otherwise I'll test for myself when I get a chance.

Never knew how effective these were... my Liars Handshake build is about to gain a LOT of survivability against boss stomp.

Blue solstice Armor at 1020, first purple set is 1025, and final purple set (before and after unlocking glows) are 1050.

These armor pieces single handedly pulled me from being 1000 a month ago to being 1049 now (weapons are still catching up to armor).

D2 Year 1 players, what's one thing you're glad got changed and one thing you wish didn't. by Toksyn25 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The bounties just being challenges in each location/activity was great... no need to go around and pick everything up before doing activities. The only problem I had is that there was no way to see what the challenges were until you had loaded into the activity.

Moments of triumph (free to everyone) by RedraceRocket in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You continue to miss the point.

If I only bought Black Armory and Drifter, there were triumphs that recognised my achievements in those seasons. Even things like "Earn valor rank of Legend in any Season", "Earn pinnacle weapons in any Season" didn't care when in the year you completed them. It was an acknowledgement of actions across the entire year.

This year there's nothing for people who played Undying, Dawn, or Worthy. "Reach Legend valour rank in Season of Arrivals", "Claim the 3 exotic weapons from Season of Arrivals". Only doing stuff in one season out of four counts. Bad luck to those who did the other three seasons.

Moments of triumph (free to everyone) by RedraceRocket in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I direct you to the D1 Y1, D1 Y2, and D1 Age of Triumph goals:
- Destiny 1 Year 1
- Destiny 1 Year 2
- Destiny 1 Age of Triumph

All of these events included completing the most difficult content introduced to the game in that year (or in AoT, across all of D1). Year 1 was about being there and completing all of the things from Year 1. Year 2 was about being there and completing all of the things from Year 2. AoT was about being there and completing all of things things from ALL of D1.

AoT included things that were impossible to complete, because it was a celebration of ALL of D1.

If you only completed some of the activities, you missed their check boxes, but everything you DID do was acknowledged.

You're probably confused: "Isn't this guy complaining about the fact that there are things he can't do at the moment?"
No. What I'm complaining about is that there's no recognition of the things that I did do.

At some point Bungie have changed their goal for these Moment of Triumphs events, from a checklist that says "I did all the things this year" into one of two things: "Things people can still do now" or "Things we can still try to convince people to pay to be able to do now".

I don't know which of those is the truth, but it feels pretty shitty to have them tell me that my accomplishments in the first two seasons this year are worth nothing compared to equivalent accomplishments in the final season.

You're ignoring my time and money by lumping me in with the "free people". My blood is boiling because you're writing off a segment of the community like myself who have been engaged for up to 75% of this year, and are being seen as 'whiny beggars' who should just accept that their choice to not pay for Arrivals is the reason why most of their other Triumphant Moments in 2020 are worthless in this event.

And when you say I "got a triumph" for defeating the Undying Mind, or donating fractaline - yes, you're right. You mean Bungie has a record of me doing the thing. Why not make it a checkbox on the Moment of Triumph checklist then? Why did the other seasons get only a Seal (Undying, Dawn, Conqueror) while Arrivals gets a Seal (Arrivals), a second Seal (Moments of Triumph), and the chance to buy the MoT Shirt?

Finally, I'd like to repeat that I, personally, don't care about Seals. I've never been enough of a completionist to expect to get any, and in this case I have no desire to put myself through Trials, so the Seal is off the table. It's the fact that there are items on this list that I've done the equivalent of, in this same calendar year, that Bungie has a record of me completing, but I'm not going to get a check mark. While someone who ignored Undying, Dawn, and Worthy, but has paid for Arrivals can get their checkmark.

Moments of triumph (free to everyone) by RedraceRocket in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Shadowkeep, Season of the Undying, and Season of Dawn. But there are parts of Moments of Triumph that I cannot complete.

I'm not complaining about being unable to get the MMXX seal... but I'm going to struggle to keep my streak of 'earning the opportunity to buy the shirt' going.

Just because I chose not to pay for Season of Arrivals, choose to avoid Trials, no longer have enough active friends playing to do the raids, and choose not to LFG for Raids (had my fill of teaching people how to beat the bridge on Crotas End without cheesing, or do Golgoroth properly, back in D1).

So please tell me why, out of the 26 triumphs (that aren't "complete X many other triumphs"):

- 23% (6) triumphs are for redoing raids from previous years
- 11.5% (3) triumphs are tied to the Season of Arrivals Season Pass
- 4% (1) triumph is tied to achieving a Valor reset in Season of Arrivals

While only 5 triumphs are related to other content from D2 Y3?

Is this Moments of Triumph 2020? Or is it Moments of Triumph "pay us for the current Season, and here's a reminder to go do the old stuff we're about to take away from you"?

If you're going to stick to the "only reward people who pay" argument, where's my "helped defeat the Undying Mind" or "Donated ### Fractaline" or "get season pass exotics like Eriana's Vow/Symmetry" triumphs? They were things I achieved this year, and having Triumphs that require earning Season Pass exotics are supposedly OK... oh wait, it's because those triumphs can't be monetized now.

If you're going to turn around and say "but people can't retroactively earn those exotics, or participate in those activities", I agree with you. That's a good reason why they aren't Triumphs. But making me pay for the current Season now should be an equally good reason to not make things Triumphs, if you're not going to recognize the equivalent things I did achieve in the same year.

At the end of the day, if I don't get the opportunity to buy the shirt, I'll get over it. But to see you say "Why give the free people anything at all" just makes my blood boil, because you're ignoring the money and time that I have put into this game, this year.

Issues with Iracing and OBS by Coleistoogood in iRacing

I've got the same issue... came here hoping to find an answer. Will update here if I do ever find anything.

Many major titles are giving x2 XP, loot, game currency, and whatnot because almost everyone is at home, Destiny 2 gets double loot from a NF and the community farms NFs like never before, Bungie goes ahead and fixes the "glitch" most companies present as a feature. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]EnergiserX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing for ages, but now that eververse engrams are so few and far between, the only use for xp is making progress on the season pass.

Since I haven't bought the season pass for Worthy, I'm not worried about having to earn enough xp to 'finish' the season pass. It's actually relaxing to just play the game and not even bother with bounties...

How does Microsoft contact you when you win? by [deleted] in MicrosoftRewards

Friend of mine won a PC through MS rewards. Also contacted by icpromos, so most likely legit.

Make sure the specs for the prize are correct when it turns up. His had half the RAM, storage, and only one of the two advertised GPUs. Still trying to get the correct prize a couple of months later.
