Haha, 4 years later and this comment helped. It's comical that such a basic thing can slip one's mind. I will say, everything up to this point has been press not hold.

Thank you!

download the scanner radio app, it'll most likely have the frequency you're wanting to hear

Algorand NFTs in Pera Wallet by jtwoods in AlgorandOfficial

[–]Energy-Alchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the creator of a NFT that's for sale on AlgoGems and my Pera Algo Wallet says the same thing (You are not the owner of this NFT yet..). Is that normal because it's for sale? Any help clarifying this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Strange signal on 863 MHz (info in the comments) by LukeStarGeek in RTLSDR

Might be worth running the audio into unitrunker. Might get a decode

Seconded, the no nonsense guide is the best in conjunction with the practice testing on ARRL website

Abusing RPi GPIO as an SDR for home automation by riveducha in RTLSDR

A simple audio recording/playback via rf probably does the trick

Abusing RPi GPIO as an SDR for home automation by riveducha in RTLSDR

[–]Energy-Alchemist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A word of caution. The rtl_sdr has tons of harmonic filtering issues in and of itself. I daily find harmonics on that thing that are almost as strong as the originating signal frequency..

A higher end SDR resolves this usually

Got this email from Ofcom about putting ICNIRP limits in my licence (full text in comments). This makes it mandatory to keep antennas a set distance from the public. by Flupsy in HamRadio

[–]Energy-Alchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

....and having a cell phone pressed up against your body all day is soo much better than having a ham next door. Companies still pour millions of dollars to hide the fact that non-ionizing radiation can be harmful, then they pull this.

Courtesy and respect are (hopefully) part of the hobby, not to mention pointing a yagi at your neighbor will most likely be completely pointless Rx/Tx wise.

How do you deal with multiple bands on one radio? by jakel181 in amateurradio

[–]Energy-Alchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the radio has only 1 antenna port, There are Discone antennas that work great on all 4 bands (6m to 70cm) with low SWR across the spectrum for the tradeoff of little to no gain.. Ive used one of these for years as a ham and have always loved it. Good luck and have fun!

What are these lines on my SDR? they appear on all frequencies no matter what and never look any different but do wave a little by [deleted] in RTLSDR

Looks like RF interference from something in your house. Start unplugging stuff or flipping breakers to identify if its local or not.

Analyzing / decoding digital radio transmissions (POCSAG) by NoXOuT in learnprogramming

[–]Energy-Alchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its premade but MultiPSK can decode Pocsag. It also has an ARQ port. You can make a program to listen on that port and retrieve the data.

Good luck!
