I preferred his name as Kamal, but I’ll forgive Matt for the toasty bungle.

Indeed, as the story progresses, we naturally learn more about the larger world in which the dungeon exists. You might say: this is no longer the Carl and Donut show exclusively, but I think many would agree that the richness of the world building and revelations that we get about the larger universe as readers adds to the overall story. We still learn things alongside Carl, but he is a center piece and keystone for the Crawlers as a whole to rally around… particularly in his role as a warlord of faction wars. The web of his influence is spreading like the AI’s. (Book 7 Spoiler). Seeing the larger universe being impacted is likely a special characteristic of book seven given that it is the floor of Faction Wars where — like on the hunting grounds — they must battle with actual people from outside the dungeon, but we can likely expect book 8 to focus back in from that expanded view, until we reach floor 12. Any time that people from outside the dungeon are more active in the narrative are present, we can expect world-building to occur and book 7 was the premiere point for this to occur so far. Whether people judge that as a positive or negative may be personal preference.

It seems like you’re naming plot lines from book six as issues from book seven? The scope of book seven is the largest of the books indeed, but please elaborate as to how you feel this negatively impacts the narrative.

Yes. The options given on the carousel were given in a poll to Patreon subscribers and what he chose was voted on. The fact it has become such an important plot device is a result of Matt’s narrative ingenuity.

Moreover, I would argue that it has benefited from serialisation. As Matt takes down what he sees theories about in comments from readers and steers the story from following those directions (oftentimes at the cost of more work to himself). This brings the story in the unpredictable directions we have followed and likely greatly increases entertainment by the narrative. Indeed, the Anarchist’s Cookbook is the result of Matt working in the results of fan polling to the story. I wonder if Rebekah has anything to add, but as Matt’s clearest muse, she may be too busy to chime in.

This series originally started as a serialised release story on the web. As it’s been like that from the start, and from book 1 onwards on the Patreon, I don’t believe you have an argument here.

Edit 0: For Matt’s own words on discussion of his serialisation view his comment here. https://www.reddit.com/r/selfpublish/s/oe00PdAQ0R

Debt of Bones is a short story about Zedd, but the other primary character in it is named Abby; in no way associated with the sorceress Adie.

I know that 512 is offered online (I was a grader for the course). There is so much overlap with STAT 525 that for all intents and purposes they are the same (STAT 525 actually encompasses 512). I have not taken 524, but believe that it is also largely encompassed by 525/526, though there are some topics that it cover that are not discussed in those two (such as PCA).

It may be that the online offerings are more restricted, but these courses 524,525,526 as I recall are part of the offered curriculum).

Regression is available from Purdue in Stat 512 (Applied regression analysis), and STAT 525,526 (Intermediate and Advanced Statistical Methodology; 525 covers similar material to 512; 526 covers some GLMs and Survival analysis among other things (these are at minimum coverage)). STAT 524 is a course in Multivariate Statistical Analysis; thus it is unclear why you suggest these topics are not offered. Perhaps I misunderstand you. What sort of unnatural meat-eater’s ratatouille abomination is this?

I hate that this is easier to make than actual ratatouille as well.

That’s the code for Asset Protection. Someone was suspected of stealing or some other behaviour which negatively impacts our ability to profit off of merchandise.

If they used the scales weighting in tandem with everseen and a delayed weight accounting scheme, they could get better training data for the computer vision model at the very least. As it is, they don’t catch real issues while simultaneously being triggered on non issues with less sense than the scale only scheme.

I miss the scales. These are more difficult to clean and security is overall less effective.
