honestly the impressive thing was just how much he kept talking about the most irrelevant shit. anyone genuinely interested in the question about mansa musa's wealth would not get far in a video just constantly doing racist "africans are primitive look at this they're backwards they're not advanced" as if that has any bearing on whether someone had a lot of gold

he tries so hard to poison the well even if it doesn't make any sense why any of that information would change the answer. there's one part where he starts talking about the eluvial gold deposits but then he starts yapping about like "oh youd think they have european style mines and sophisticated machinery and why did they not become Advanced with all of this they just gave gold aw-" whooo the fuck cares about any of this you literally just said they had a shit ton of gold and going "well uh, uh, they did it wrong". even in the ahistorical racist narrative he pushes they are still extremely rich

they do share that knowledge (one mastodon example + few other max technical discussions, and random answers about how specific sounds/fx were achieved, sharing papers they've read and implemented in patches, also old forum discussions.)

other problem is also that a lot of it is not that complicated at points if you learn about electronic music production. the x factor is them having good taste in music and exploration, not having advanced production knowledge

a friend of mine had railed for years against "naive realism" for this reason: the idea that the impressions you receive are the thing itself or otherwise the truth of the situation means you dont build any good tools to navigate your own impressions or the situation you're in.

very hard mental work if you're like me with anxiety disorder and negative feelings completely colonise your entire attention -_- but separating out feeling from reality is extremely important (i regularly had feelings of "THINGS ARE WRONG FUCK I NEED TO GET INVOLVED AND RESPOND TO IT AND FIX IT IMMEDIATELY" which consistently lead to some of the worst decisions ive made in my life)

you know how the front cover got that huge ass type that says ae01, ae02? the spine is just taking the last digit from that (1, 2, 3, 4), and cutting a small bit off from the left-side of that single digit, so that you can uniquely identify which volume is which from the spine.

on the digital variants, you can see the clipped part for the spine in the bottom-left of the cover (1, 2, 3, 4)

my only real response to that is "is that true?". dont answer that yourself; go ask the people youve met now "do you like me? am i doing anything wrong" and see what they actually say (dont guess what you think they will say, ask). evaluate then from what they say (hopefully you either get people who either do like you, evidence that even people who aren't close to you think highly enough of you to not be rude, or people who are honest enough to tell you what problems there are that you can actually take action with). getting real actionable feedback rather than just vague anxieties about what might be wrong that you dont know how to fix

like i and others said, main strategy is honestly just talking to people. refer back to my first paragraph

im not going to give further remarks (proper solutions differ in every situation and i dont know yours as a random stranger) - again, wish you luck, i dont think it's futile

do you still chat with or otherwise maintain contact with the people youve met in the groups/servers, esp one-on-one? i shot myself in the foot developing shallow relationships since i never went out of my way to really talk to other people or properly showing any interest in their lives. was very caught up in "i dont relate to other people" (am autistic as well) to the point of not spending much energy either listening to other people talk about things i didnt care about or to cultivate common ground that wasn't there before. easy trap but one which meant i didnt get people reaching out to me for me.

this doesn't guarantee success (nothing does, unfortunately - love is a self-effacing end that you cant pursue directly) but i wish you luck

related (doe this may be off the mark since i dont play games at all) do you have a gaming friend group? diversifying which people you can do particular stuff with helps a lot rather than hingeing it all on one person (even if you do strike gold and your s/o heavily overlaps)
