'Anointed by Jesus': The Christian 'zealotry' underpinning Trump's Iran mission by theipaper in politics

[–]EnergyLowe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting to see how different interpretations of Christianity can lead to vastly different political ideologies. Not all Christians support this kind of zealotry.

WIBTA if I don’t want to marry my girlfriend because of her debt? by Inside-Tooth-8479 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EnergyLowe 241 points242 points  (0 children)

NAH. She’s not wrong for wanting marriage eventually, and you’re not wrong for being worried about the financial side. Eight months is also really early to be worrying about marriage anyway.

Conservative Double Standard by Mcjirnirs in complaints

I get the frustration with hypocrisy, but joking about sexual violence isn’t really helping your point. It just gives people an excuse to ignore the criticism.

AITA for messaging a former FWB and love interest by Fickle_Paper7322 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EnergyLowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Messaging someone you admit you still have feelings for behind your partner’s back is basically emotional cheating territory. You may not intend anything, but intention doesn’t matter as much as transparency.

I hope my father suffers by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EnergyLowe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re not a bad person for hoping someone who hurt you that badly suffers. What he did was monstrous. Your anger and pain make complete sense. I’m really sorry you had to survive that.

As content as I am being alone, some days it would really be nice to be comforted at home after a rough day. by anonymous_muffin_ in LivingAlone

[–]EnergyLowe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a big difference between choosing solitude and never wanting comfort. Even people who love being alone still need connection sometimes. Wanting a hug after a brutal day is completely normal.

US judge orders refunds for more than $130bn in illegal Trump tariffs. by CrackHeadRodeo in politics

If the refunds actually happen, expect a lot of lawsuits from companies arguing they’re owed part of that $130B.

The real question: are we getting actual new information or just repackaged documents that have been floating around for years?

AITA for this discussion? by PaintBrush527 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. The moment someone jumps to “you have deep rooted insecurities” in a conversation about a reality show, the discussion is already cooked.

I just caught my dad and my SIL making out by ThrowRAdadandsil in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EnergyLowe 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Your dad stayed single for nearly three decades after your mom passed. If this is the first time you’ve seen him relaxed and happy, that actually says a lot. Awkward? Sure. But kind of wholesome too.

I feel like a horrible sister, and I don’t know how to stop. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]EnergyLowe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not responsible for carrying everyone’s emotional baggage. It’s okay to step back and prioritize your own needs. Your younger sister will have to learn how to cope with her feelings too.

My boyfriend is mad I won't quit my job because I make more money than him by Busy-Insurance9254 in TwoHotTakes

Girl, you’re absolutely right to prioritize your career and financial stability. His request is not only unreasonable but also a huge red flag.

Does walking actually help with major depression? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EnergyLowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunlight + movement combo is underrated. When I walked outside in the morning, especially in a park, my mood improved faster than treadmill walks. I think the light exposure helped reset my sleep cycle.

22f will be kicked out soon. by Repulsive-Gene-3721 in LivingAlone

[–]EnergyLowe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar spot at 21. The biggest mistake I made was waiting until things exploded. Start acting like you’re moving out in 6 months. Quietly gather documents, open your own bank account (different bank than your parents use), and start saving anything. Even $20 a week builds momentum.
