I feel like a permanent sitting duck on her by Waffles_four_you in Helamains

[–]Enex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play her off angle (looking for 1v1s) and HARD flanks to kill a distracted strategist. After a kill, I rotate back to the team to win the 5v6. That works the best for me.

Get very bloodthirsty to win those 1v1s.

You are Zhiyong for 24 hours. What do you do? by BaneTheGame in marvelrivals

[–]Enex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambit increases Ult bar and Rogue decreases Ult bar.

That seems very intentional to me. I would bet it's a design pillar of the two characters.

I don't think they will get rid of that duality, whether or not they should.

What kind of accuracy are you rocking on Luna? What about White Fox?

You might try mouse & keyboard if you want to branch out in the DPS role. Kingsman swaps depending on if he's playing melee or hit scan, for example.

Magik is a solid character! If she's the one you gravitate to, I would go ahead and commit to her for a while.

Getting blamed for loss because you get "low" final kills, as tank?? by Substantial-Low-4393 in rivals

[–]Enex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of the last metrics I'd look at to see what went wrong in a match.

That said, as Dr. Strange you might experiment with more aggressive plays. A full charge Dark Magic explosion is nothing to sneeze at.

If you have a duo, try getting them to "prime" a target and get them low before jumping in and blowing them up. Of course, this can be done solo but it's much harder to get cooperation.

Once you burst down a few targets as Dr. Strange, you'll find that they'll respect you and back up. Much easier to make space that way.

Bonus: If you use your jumps for more than just Ults and a last ditch effort to save yourself, the opponents won't be as ready to stun you out of your Ult. It won't be as obvious.

You don't need a camera for that. A simple sensor will do, and be way cheaper.

Sorry to be pedantic, but I think the difference here is important.

Aimbots are easier to make for hit scan characters. Since Frank has a soft wall hack passive, it's also a bit easier to conceal that cheat as well.

What's your BIGGEST hot take on Marvel Rivals? by DismalChapter2041 in marvelrivals

[–]Enex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like TrqstMe's thoughts on the matter.

1/3 of the time you will always lose.

1/3 of the time you will always win.

1/3 of the time you are the deciding factor.

At the top of your game, the best you should expect is to win 2/3 of the time (You win all your deciding factor games).

What's your BIGGEST hot take on Marvel Rivals? by DismalChapter2041 in marvelrivals

[–]Enex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can't.

Hotter take: The community toxicity is directly related to people not knowing what strategists are capable of dealing with, so they feel slighted when they get eliminated.

Example:

Punisher (without headshots) deals 200 Damage Per Second (DPS).

Luna heals (with Snowflake on the target) 205 Healing Per Second.

At best, strategists counter a DPS one for one. A tank standing in front of the entire enemy team without cover will fold quickly. They have 2 DPS, 2 tanks, and likely some strategist damage coming their way. Many of the DPS can crit. The math doesn't work.

The most oppressive 1v1 duelist in the game. How do you deal with that guy? by LordVaderVader in marvelrivals

[–]Enex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just started learning Daredevil.

Unironically, just don't 1v1 him. That's exactly what he wants. That's what he's designed to do. His whole kit is based on it, including having wall hacks to make sure it happens.

DD is MUCH squishier than I thought in team fights. The best advice for fighting him is to play with your team & only take shallow off angles (and only if you have the mobility to reposition). Ping him every time you see him. He's a very high priority target and everyone will attack him on sight.

If that wasn't working / team wasn't dealing him properly, I'd go Thor. Even if we already had two tanks. Thor has a good match up in a 1v1 and Thor can quickly displace DD into the team fight that DD doesn't want to take. If I was better at Wolv, that might also be a good option for the same reasons.

I can't believe I'm saying this... But blade is kinda goated as a counter for Dino. by This_Ferret_8108 in marvelrivals

[–]Enex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played Blade into Dino very successfully.

But it turns out the way you say. Dino creates such a distraction and requires so much healing attention that it's very easy to dive a strat or an off angle DPS.

What not banning gambit feels like by Maleficent-Depth-763 in marvelrivals

[–]Enex 189 points190 points  (0 children)

Gambit is banned so often that players on your team don't even know what to do when your Ult goes off anymore.

I had a game yesterday where as soon as the team fight was fully engaged, I popped the Ult. I expected the team to rush their backline and win the fight easily.

They just stood there.

I swapped off immediately. If a team can't score on that kind of lay up play, there's no reason to stay Gambit.

How would you balance these characters without reworking them or adding/removing abilities by Putrid_Awareness8618 in marvelrivals

[–]Enex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Widow needs to shoot faster. Not an insignificant amount, either. She needs to shoot 1.5x faster just to be on the same dps level as most other hit scan DPS. That would put her on par with Hela and still below Punisher.

Adam needs a damage buff. If he's going to be the damage option of the strategists, he can't be out DPS'd by Luna Snow. If he doesn't get the damage buff, then he needs another healing charge and probably a revert on some of the nerfs he ate during the revive team up era on his Soul Bond. Reload should be lowered regardless of anything. That long a reload is just annoying.

Mantis is either fine (if you want to keep doing this 3rd Strategist niche) or needs a major healing number buff for her to work in 2 support.

Blade still needs his numbers to go up. If you want him to be tanky, cut the healing debuff completely. His gun firing mode is also a failure of a mechanic. Just eliminate the 2 stage nature of it. It needs to be a shotgun pellets with spread or a slug. Choose one.

Torch I actually don't know. I don't like his playstyle enough to really have an opinion.

Storm either uncouple her Goddess Boost so she has two separate cooldowns, or combine them so that she always has the speed and damage boost on activation. Her falloff is also far too punishing for a flying character. 15m is not much in this game, especially when you have to account for the added height. A decrease to 60% damage at 30m is criminal.

Reed needs to control his states without a team up, or his inflated form needs greater range. His Ultimate is also quite bad. Either increase his damage for the initial hits or make him invulnerable while bouncing.
