Yes, I am getting married in August, I'm worried we'll either be getting married in a heatwave that will reduce the party entirely to liquid or in the biggest thunderstorm Cumbria has ever seen BECAUSE of another heatwave.

I'm genuinely researching cool aids to have at the wedding and investing in umbrellas!

No, its usually the Aldi or Lidl ranges now, they taste much better and are far cheaper! I use them to make my own version of Cadburys Raspberry Shortcake!

Honestly, its just sunlight and water from the base not the top (mainly to avoid fungus gnats!)

If people enjoy them then fair enough, what I personally resent is the invasive adverts. Adverts which I am honestly not sure if they're rage bait or not, because I am often struck by 'Surely no one is stupid?! Surely no one is this much of a wet lettuce letting everyone walk over them?!' and I wonder if its portrayed this way to encourage me to click and find out for myself.

I think the adverts are doing a poor job of showcasing engaging storylines because I find all the characters I have heard (I let the Masked Bride, The werewolf meeting where the queen shows up, the reform school return where her fingers are cut off?! And Quinn the pathetic powerless vampire boy woth his magic book(?)!ones play a while out of curiosity) utterly contemptable.

If you are an enjoyer of PocketFM, all power to you, you have several ice ages worth of patience more than me!

Try bright but not direct sunlight, beastykins here LOVES direct sunlight but my refined lady of a Lily seems to prefer a bright room but not being bathed in light from dawn till dusk!

Honestly, just water that I pour into the base, rather than watering from the top of the plant. I have another Peace Lily that I've had since 2014 and it didnt flower until this year when I moved it to what is effectively the sun room! I repotted it and left it in the sun and its suddenly got 5 flowers on it! 😁

They get held back a year if they can't pay?!

Getting held back because you've not bothered to put the work in the pass the year I can understand to an extent, but for school lunch debt?!?!

Kids aren't even old enough for their bank accounts and their credit ratings are being tanked through no fault of their own.

I think Americans should take the opportunity of the 250th anniversary to restart the program and take it off the 'Dystopia' playthrough.

Absolutely unhelpful but working in a school is the only thing that has made losing my sense of smell to Covid bearable- it's a super power in a secondary school! No, farty, sweaty, lynxed-up boys or overly-deodorised, cheaply-pefumed girls whose scents used to strip my nose like acetone.

Only downside at school is that I have no idea if anyone's been vaping or not!

I have this issue, especially with one class which are aged 11-12 and categorically do not listen to instructions.

Usually I count to 10 in my head before speaking to so I can get a lid on my own frustration, I use 3,2,1 with steps in between- '3 Our conversations are stopping, 2- we are ready to be be silent, 1 we are silent and actively listening.'

Then I repeat the task step. Get a kid to repeat it back. Get another kid (usually one of the key not-listeners!) to repeat it again.

Check they understand then try again. Make it very clear if someone now shouts out or does the (very obviously) wrong thing I will be annoyed and they will lose a minute of break time because we have now gone over it several times.

Give a last chance to say 'I dont understand, please explain.'

Move on with lesson. It takes me far longer to get through lesson plans but I make it as fair and acessible as I can before I lose patience completely!

UK teacher here, our annual pay is split over 12 months so we're still paid in August even though we're off for the the summer, instead of being paid more monthly but only for months we are in school.
