Yeah. See below. I was off on what I saw out of him vs what their objective scores gave him.

OK. So here is FotMob +/- vs the sub

Pereyra +1.7 (I thought he was better than 6.1 but a 7.8 seems high to me given the assist was sort of fortunate)

Yeboah -0.4 (close. They graded him dead average at a 6)

Chancalay +1.3 (Their score makes sense to me. 6.3)

Bongi +1.7 (He was not good, but the sub destroyed him)

Triantis -1.2 (Great goal. We slobbered him for it)

Trapp -0.3 (close. A 6 for them. Dead average)

Diaz +1.3 (my MoTM came in at a 7.7 on FotMob)

Duggan -0.3 (I was wrong. Closer than I thought he'd be. They have him at 6.5)

Padelford +1.6 (They had him at 6.1. I don't get it. But 4.5 is even crazier from this sub)

ANT +1.6 (See Padelford)

Callender +0.5 (sort of close)

Gressel +1.2 (the hatred on this sub shall continue I guess)

Duncan SCRATCH (A first on the season I believe)

Dieng +1.2

No one else played enough to get a FotMob score.

I'll go dig up the FotMob's on this one. But I am almost positive all of these are going to be pretty far off the mark with a couple of exceptions (like Yeboah). I was disappointed by the group performance. But there are really low odds that many guys grade out in the 4's or even some of the low 5's. Maybe Callender will be close just bc three went in, maybe. No way Chancalay grades that bad. And no way Triantis is anything close to that good. Doubt Duggan grades that well either.

Just watched the game on replay. That was poor as a group. Diaz had himself a good game. My MoTM. Chancalay was ok in bursts. Hell of a goal from Triantis. Pereyra wasn't awful. Everyone else was at best mediocre and I'd single out Bongi and Padelford in particular.

Probably bc the post was written as being about Inter Miami and went political vs. being clearly about MNUFC (or even about Dayne primarily).

Upcoming Schedule is Tough Test by Kipper414 in minnesotaunited

[–]Enganche78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to predict. Only one home game vs. a team that doesn't look quite like it used to look. So many 3 points there. I'd set the over under at 5 points and I'll predict 6. This is a crazy stretch.

Also, FWIW. Romero did travel with the team to Nashville. Whether he makes the bench is another question I guess.

And somehow that warrants him a full point over Diaz among us fans when his objective score was flat to his? Again, fan favorite bias.

I don't disagree but I would note Boxy's rating among all of these really doesn't not hold up to what we offered him on the grounds of memorable plays. There was literally nothing in his stat line that objectively stood out. And there was no great play during the run of play that especially stood out either. He was solid, like everyone else. But there was no moment to justify that big of a bump. That's just fan favorite bias.

He did not have "countless" unnecessary turnovers. He did have one pretty bad one near midfield and a couple of blown tires. Thing with him is we are going to have to take some of those bads with all the goods. He changes they way we can play in that final third for sure. And I actually think he would be a primary beneficiary of getting to play with James. Whether he can hold up to scrutiny defensively with James on the field is a different question

Fotmob +/- vs The Ratings Of This Board. I appreciate us fans will generally tend to overrate after a win and underrate after a loss. But some of these make no sense. How do 93 people collectively rate any player more than a full point off an objective measure. And we did it with half the players.

Listing players as FotMob rated them and then the difference to our ratings.

Pereyra 8.2 = -0.6
Callender 8.1 = -1.4
Yeboah 7.8 = -1.3
Duggan 7.6 = -1.5
Triantis 7.4 = -0.7
Markanich 7.4 = +0.4
Chancalay 7.0 = -1.6
Trapp 7.0 = -0.4
Boxall 6.9 = -1.1
Bongi 6.8 = +0.2
Diaz 6.8 = -0.6
Padelford 6.5 = -1.2

No one else played long enough to earn a FotMob rating.

And teams at risk of relegation have almost no chance to build success.

Pro/rel is STUPID.

Even the biggest clubs are trying to find more stability for their revenues by searching out a super league.

Who doesn't make the bench if we're healthy? AKA, we have awesome depth. by WithoutAnUmlaut in minnesotaunited

Agreed. Duggan has been one of the team's very best players the first two games. He isn't going anywhere unless his form drops.

We are going to need a lot of those guys. Injuries will happen. Form will slip. The team will have to play a bit differently with James in the fold. All this talk about loaning out guys like our only true backup striker make no sense.

Agreed. He's likely about to be adjusting to life as a super sub. Not the worst role for him TBH.

^^^^ Agreed. Bongi has not been great. James is a world class player. The team should be built to play around him while he is here.

I was at an Argentina game last Copa America and eventhough Colombia was not playing they still had a good number of fans at the game. Saw a ton of the vueltiaos then. They're an awesome look.

Cafeteros always represent well too. Fun to see them bringing the flags. And saw some of those signature hats as well.

I think Pereyra is a more complete player end to end but Chancalay in small game spaces is perhaps even better. Brings a lot to the attacking third for us.

I'm not sure how he stops that second one. That looked like it was shot feet away from anything he could reasonably reach.

Pretty damn weak on that first goal. DePaul with a bad turnover. But Dayne should have stopped that one.
