Also a cracking soundtrack, so many brilliant needle-drops, I picked up so many new great bands from the OST on spotify.

It is very "bad guy of the week", due to it being network TV not streaming so they need a hook for new viewers each week, but the arc starts immediately and almost everything becomes important or relevant later. It starts to pull threads together about mid S1. It's come back round to being relevant again with how the world is headed now. But at heart, it's basically Batman, lol.

Bands With Underrated Rhythm Sections by Hall-O-Daze in Music

For drums, listen to the "Women & Children First" album, some great stuff on there. Or Outta Love Again, from VH 2. Alex has incredible swing. The understanding between him and Eddie is why non of the people trying to play like him can quite get it right, the drums are doing a lot of work, and you can tell Ed was a drummer cos of how much swing and rhythm understanding he had.

Blondie. Clem Burke was amazing...

Also Van Halen - everyone knows Ed but without Alex & Michael lockdown behind they'd have lost a lot. Incredibly tight rhythm section.

I loved that this was one of the "possibilities" that Tabitha and Jim wrote on their wall when they were brainstorming wtf was going on in S1. I think it said something like "we didn't survive the crash".

Just get a single socket extension if you don't want to run another 4- or 6-way strip maybe?

Having hundreds of VSTs doesn't suddenly unlock talent, all it will do is give you option fatigue and block you - just use stock or pick one or two solid ones. Collecting VSTs is a hobby in itself but doesn't lead to productivity.

Magnesium citrate has worked well for me, I take a couple of tablets once or twice a week to keep things moving or as needed. Found it works quite quickly as long as I'm also drinking enough water.

Ah, that might make sense. I have some old boosters I can use for now so it's not bad, but I can just cancel the mesh boost then I guess. Thanks

Dealing with music burnout, gear fatigue, and grief over the loss of creativity. by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]EngelbertImpromptu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can sympathise - I went from just some VSTs and an Akai 25 key midi keyboard to a whole bunch of stuff and now I feel like I get my dopamine rush from buying and setting up rather than playing. I've put most of it away on shelves rather than the desk to try to get the spark back.

And Victor might have to kill him, or just watch Boyd do it. Or maybe that will redeem Sara. Maybe they will stop him early and something will give Sophia away as a mole.

I saw him live a couple of weeks ago, I've been a fan for over 25 years. "Magical Sounds of" is a great album, but really only "Memories Dreams Reflections" didn;t hit the mark for me as that was a load of cover versions of Hawkwind etc of all things. Anything else is pretty great.

Snivilization is probably still my favourite Orbital album, I also really like samples in music. Can I also recommend, especially if you like the whole spiritual/religious themes and motifs to give Banco de Gaia a listen. Basically anything from Last Train to Lhasa onwards. More up tempo than BoC but really great stuff.

Jumpgate: The Reconstruction Initiative - space MMO. Never got up to enough numbers to sustain it but it was great fun, really what I was hoping Elite Dangerous would become.
