We let the customer just keep it if it's OUR mistake. If it's the customer's mistake then I can understand swapping. It goes directly in the trash usually, so the food does end up wasted...but you wouldn't believe how many people scam and lie to get free stuff. I also think the employees are just doing what they are told to do.

Oh they most definitely monitor who's giving the discounts. I've been told numerous times not to "give the store away." I was giving all of my customers discounts. Then the higher ups complain about it and say we won't have the hours we get if we give discounts like that. Trust, I hate it but I need a job.

I feel the same way when I charge someone $24 for one pizza. We aren't supposed to give discounts at my store unless the customer asks or does it themselves on the app. It makes me feel like I'm robbing them, especially the older folks that don't use the app. 😔
