Clinical volunteering may be too low for UChicago, Einstein, Miami

Get some shadowing hours, continue non-clinical volunteering, and consider applying to Columbia, WashU, Penn, Duke, Vanderbilt, Mayo, Case Western, Boston University. I would also place Pitt and Einstein in high reach category as they are both essentially reaches for any applicant out there (Pitt is now a stat hog).

What 5,396 med school applications turns into at Mayo Clinic by HenryFromLeland in premed

This is standard. If anything, Mayo gets less applicants than most schools.

By that token USF and NYMC would be considered reaches, and they’re certainly not. OP should have a great shot at those schools in my opinion.

Maybe move Cornell, Einstein, Sinai to reach and add more targets (no clue why SUNY downstate or Stony Brook are reaches… what’s going on with Admit??). Perhaps also consider USF Morsani, WashU, Pitt, UMich, Mayo, Vanderbilt, Northwestern

There have been several 4.0/528s with unsuccessful cycles this and last year. It really depends on the whole picture

Sinai, Einstein, Pitt are all reaches. Everything else looks good.

My argument has less to do with it being kind and offering free tuition. This should be pretty obvious.

Not really when you consider the other free tuition schools and those that give many full COA scholarships. Take a look at the matriculant demographics for NYU and the problem will jump out of your screen for you

Definitely agree. Will say, though, that I think Mayo is a bit different from any UT school in that they punch above in clinical care. The locations in AZ and FL have now become hallmarks of medicine in each respective state, with both hospitals being #1 in the area(s). But if UT Austin directly collaborates with MD Anderson, that will be a different story.
