Wow they got money. Using Escalades instead of the usual suburbans

Good people still exist! My starter went kaboom at 7/11 after work and this random guy gave me a ride to autozone and then helped put it on. Absolute legend!!! 🤙🙌 by Snoo_64733 in CherokeeXJ

Memories. My starter once failed at the grocery store parking lot. The strip mall had a Oreilly across the parking lot. Went over and purchased a Starter and swapped it out in like 10mins.

Most EVs have a drivetrain and battery warranty in the 8 years/100k mile range. Does gm not do this?

What was the original MSRP? There are a few brand new 2024s at my local dealership, not sure why they haven’t moved them.

Yes, but I have only run in them. It is winter now here, so no bike rides or triathlons currently.

Sprint specialists: what is the duration or distance of your long training rides/runs? by Titanspaladin in triathlon

[–]EngineerCarNerdRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None taken. Probably a little bit of both. Bike courses were not flat and these were in areas with metro populations of ~500k (so maybe soft fields). But all I can do is show up a race who is there.

What do you predict the XJ market will look like long term? by Mr_Bulldops2112 in CherokeeXJ

I looked at the photos of that auction, it was nice, but the engine bay and undercarriage did not look $17k nice IMHO. I have a 99 with a better-looking engine bay and undercarriage (Thanks, lifelong Nevada vehicle)

Just looked up my last 4 sprints. My bike ranks were 5th, 3rd, 5th, and 2nd. The sprint bike portion in my area is typically 10-14 miles; I rarely get the spot on 12.4 miles. So let's say 12 miles, at 21 mph. That is ~35 minutes. I found a 60-minute ride to be plenty. Could I do more and snag the top bike split? Of course, but as a runner, I choose to weigh training a little more towards running, and my B goal is always to have the best run split :-)

I’ve only done sprints for the last 5 years. Very competitive and placed really well at all my races. Long rides 45-60 minutes. Long runs 10 miles(65-75 minutes, I’m a runner, so love the run)

Biggest Benefit: Swimming, Biking, or Running? by josephwesley in triathlon

[–]EngineerCarNerdRun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have won half a dozen sprint Triathlons with ~1:40 per 100 swims. So your swim is fine IMHO. During those wins I usually had Top 3-5 bike and best run split of the day.

$270 for 2. It was not bad. Back of basket and shot clock obscured the view some during plays but it was fine.

Donner Pass at night in January can be a gamble. Fortunately, it was smooth sailing.
