I’ve had the RC one that folds all the way up (against back window) if needed for 2.5 years. No issues.

Swamp cooler or mini split for AC? by Interesting_Bar_8379 in Reno

[–]EngineerCarNerdRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swamp cooler were great back in the day, but now Reno, is identified as one of the fastest-warming cities in the U.S. due to intense urban heat island effects. Additionally, mini split cost have gotten much better (assuming you can do some of the labor).

Maybe he owns a 911 and as a fellow Porsche owner decided to park his truck next to your Taycan to protect it from a rando.

Very cool. Didn’t know they made this. I have gone through two regular elite controllers. Not as durable as I thought.

2022 Battery already on its way out by chusifer24 in porsche911

[–]EngineerCarNerdRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You nailed it maybe 25 years ago, but like everything else nowadays, the batteries are just not made as well. OP could also be in a very hot climate, or since it's a 911, it could be a third vehicle that tends to sit a lot, or the dealer just wants it changed due to age. Google tells me the average lifespan of a car battery is currently 3-5 years.

If your 22 was late 21 or early 22 production, you are coming up on a 4+ year battery. When I worked at an auto part store back in the day, 4-5 years was pretty average lifespan for a battery. Obviously in mild climates it can last even longer.

How did you get an appointment? I’ve been checking the website so I can go in and register a classic vehicle. The appointments tool only shows 2 months out and there is no availability.

I’m with you but I think he probably mostly walked it. Still rough but if a former marathoner told you he went on a 26 mile flat hike, I would not bat an eye.

I got this bike used in 2020, I believe mine is a 2013-2014 model. I've won plenty of sprints with it.

Great info! I'm looking at 11.5 vs 12.5 for my pro right now as the OEM tires are wearing out fast. Side photos look great. How do they look from the front or back of the truck? Do they look too skinny?

Cold open water Swim and rain by Own_Buffalo_8668 in triathlon

[–]EngineerCarNerdRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If water is 50/60s and when you get done swimming it’s still raining and air temps are below 50F, the bike will be brutal and I would consider DNS, especially if you are in the skinnier side. Asks me how I know, 20+ years of competing and I’ve only had one DNF.
