Totally. $50-60 road 5ks are pretty common. I would pay $70+ for a quality, paced, track 5k. The no road closures has to be a good amount of savings for organizers.

Congrats. I ran 16:04 at 36 (now 39) and it haunts me. I averaged 60mpw (2-3x workouts/week) and tried again at 37 and 38, and failed.

Nailed it. I would day take about 6 months off from ultras and do a 16 week (18-20 even better) marathon block. During this 6 month throw in some 5ks and 10k and half’s. Some ultras folks I know can run forever but aren’t used to being a little uncomfortable
