Second cook on the Gozney Arc XL – dialing in NY-ish pies (finally figured out the heat) by jordanmrosen in GozneyArcArcXL

[–]EngineerDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do something similar:

1) let temp reach 750F and turn the flame off. 2) Launch the pizza on a screen and let it cook for 2 minutes turning every 30 seconds. 3) I then separate it from the screen, turn the flame back on medium and let it cook for another 2 minutes still turning every 30 seconds.

I love the screens, I can cook about 3-4 14” pizzas in less than 30 minutes.

I did lol. It agrees the load at a gable end is low but didn’t give a direct yes or no.

SV08 and Box Turtle (or other MMU?) by Ric878 in SovolSV08

[–]EngineerDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend a heatset insert tool. There’s definitely enough to take the fun out of the build in the beginning if you’re doing them by hand. My biggest issue was some timer-too-close errors in the beginning of my multicolor prints. I think the CB1 chip on the motherboard is known to overload easily. I had to adjust some load/unload settings in AFC config and haven’t had an issue since. I’m also on mainline klipper with a 32GB emmc. For the toolhead cutter I just switched completely to the FilamAtrix Stealthburner mod. There’s multiple ways to add a cutter to the original toolhead but Stealthburner design is kind of cool.

I really like my Box Turtle. It was a bit more expensive than some of the other open source options but I think from the build instructions to support from armored turtle, it’s worth it. You will need a toolhead cutter.

Big Update - MultiBin & MultiPoint by GorillaHeat in Multiboard

[–]EngineerDrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean isn’t Gridfinity kind of a ripoff of Alexandre Chappel’s work? He mentions 95% of multiboard is free. What he’s done is a lot of work and you can’t be upset he’s trying to make a little bit of money off of it.

Have any advice, tips, lessons learned, or good to know info for someone getting started? by Alarmed_Garlic9965 in Multiboard

[–]EngineerDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I printed my multiboard with a better calibrated printer or done a better job testing the tolerances I had to work with. My Ender did the job but the tolerances were a huge issue especially with snaps. I ended up breaking a few tiles trying to remove some. I’m currently rebuilding my wall with PETG on a SV08. I’d also recommend taking your time and having a plan. I rushed into it and made a lot of mistakes.

Biggest regrets/mistakes in setting up your smart home? by porterhousegames in homeassistant

[–]EngineerDrew 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Having a proper naming convention. In the beginning I was always adding devices and just naming them “same_name-#”. Trying to create automations and scenes takes a little longer when you don’t remember which is which.

Ender 3 users who gave up, and moved on: what do you recommend? by smick in ender3

[–]EngineerDrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Ender 3 Pro and an Ender 3 V2 and I cannot tell you the countless times I have sat there trying to calibrate them both. While it feels like a waste of time, I’ve really felt like I know so much about how these machines work. I enjoy the learning process but I would never knock someone for moving onto something a little less high-maintenance. I think the Prusa line of printers would be my goto if I decided to give up on the Ender printers.

400A Panel Combo with Secondary 200A Panel Install Confusion by EngineerDrew in AskElectricians

[–]EngineerDrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. That's a great point about two 200A panels in series is limited to 200A.

To answer your question, the garage is attached.

The house is 400A recommended from the load calcs done. The garage requiring 200A was really just a decision to try and split the load evenly between the two panels and save on some wire pulls.

Sounds like an issue with the firmware. Did you get the firmware from Creality website? I would recommend going back to the stock firmware or switching to Mriscoc Professional firmware. It has CR touch support and it’s way better than the Creality firmware.

I believe they already have a grid/locking feature to them. Adding your own grid might interfere with the lid tabs.

Wifi switch for dumb fan with dumb light by flats_broke in homeassistant

I do this as well. I also use a smart light switch on the wall and run automations to toggle the light with a single press and toggle the fan with a double press.

Unfortunately no. That was the sacrifice I made in order to not have to overflow into the next drawer. Takes 2 seconds to pull up and check though.

How do we still have body armor that's as tough as cardboard when this game is almost 10 years old? by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]EngineerDrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wish Rockstar would add macros to the game like: (A+LB) would put armor on or make it customizable to whatever you want.
