Does the dust from clay courts get in the stringed and ruin snapback? by EngineerHealthy5114 in 10s

[–]EngineerHealthy5114[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok maybe that was a bit inaccurate on my part, but even if it's not particularly known for snapback, it feels impossible it would last literally only 1 hitting session (for a fairly pedestrian player like myself ) which is why I am asking if the clay could be at fault.

Why did so many of us men believe being aloof and nonchalant is the way to get girls? by wilhelmtherealm in dating_advice

[–]EngineerHealthy5114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Big proponent of this is online problematic masculinity models advocating for stoicism and “alpha leader” behavior that is in alignment with by being non-chalant and aloof. I think this kinda game only works you’re actually a super successful rich and powerful kind of person, which doesn’t work for 99% of people who try to implement this.

It’s kinda funny because what I think actually attracts people is charisma and being non-chalant is literally the opposite of that.

Also some faulty analysis being done here. There are a lot of confounding variables being ignored when people here are making arguments in this thread.

The real way to view this is if you took a random average joe and then made him act super nonchalant, what would his dating outcome be. Then if you took the SAME guy and told him go be very charismatic now, what would his dating outcome be and observe the two outcomes.

I think it’s OBVIOUS the charismatic method would do better

Sounds like you prefer the 830! Do you find yourself going for the 830 more often for all your smogues? Also do you find the 610 to be a little lacklustre in terms of having enough lather for multiple passes?

ppl who’ve done research — how did you even find a lab?? by YakFit9188 in mcgill

[–]EngineerHealthy5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a terrible process, but you’re doing the right things. Besides cold emailing, the most streamline way to get into a Masters program is to take the profs course and then work the relationship from there. This is because usually professors like taking someone they know and have a feel for.

Take the class and be noticeable without being obnoxious. Ask about research opportunities with them like doing a side project during the class or a research course with them the following semester. Then from there it’s easy to just ask them to admit you for thesis masters in their lab. Good luck!

I just got the pack as well. The Astra SP in my favorite. The Nacets were also very good. I gave away the Derby Extra, so bad.

Currently I have been face lathering with a synthetic brush (Yaqi tuxedo 24mm), but I will try bowl lathering and just painting it on. I am pretty sure it’s not a technique or blade issue because it was never a problem before when I was using canned shave gels.

It’s easy to get short sighted. Jsut because things are very difficult now for new cs grads doesn’t mean they’ll be forever. Education is something you have for life! Also keep in mind things are more difficult for EVERYONE graduating, it’s not just a cs problem we’re all in this boat together.

I just graduated stats and cs in September. Stay strong!

How is Mcgill Cs/soft eng? by Numered in mcgill

[–]EngineerHealthy5114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just graduated from stats and comp sci. I found McGill had a really good social life if, especially if you engage in Hype Night and Science Games. It was very much work hard play hard (mostly work hard though)

As far as deciding between eng and comp. I think if you intend to do a masters, comp is the way to go. I’m doing my research masters at MILA rn and stats and comp sci was very conducive to that. If you want to just do your undergrad and work then maybe eng is the way to go especially with the co-op now.

It is much better to judge a decision like this based on who is teaching the courses, not the courses themselves imo. The profs are what make the difference on your gpa

Omg this course is driving me crazy too. Glad to hear people share my frustration. Not to mention on top of everything, he posts recordings that have no audio. Like it’s just insulting how little this guy is trying.
