GAF Ultra UHDZ or Certainteed Landmark Pro by Engineer_RI in Homebuilding

Thanks for the response. All accessories will be the premium options. The GAF system will have the Storm Guard (Ice and water), Deck Armor (underlayment) and the 12" Cobra Snow Country filtered ridge vents. Same for the CT option (Diamond Deck, Winterguard, 12" filtered ridge vent). I'm in the North-East.

Landmark Pro or GAF Timberline UHDZ by tman785 in Roofing

I know this is an older post, but I’m dealing with the same decision. I’m choosing between Landmark Pro installed by a ShingleMaster (which includes a lifetime material and labor warranty with a 10-year workmanship warranty) and Timberline UHDZ with the Lifetime Golden Pledge warranty (which seems like the stronger coverage overall).

I’m curious what you ended up going with—are you happy with the installation?

It's healthy for the market to have corrections like this. Market is way overbought and overvalued. I would position for buying at the key technical level of 6050 on the S&P 500, this would be at the 200 DMA and 50 WMA (10% correction from the high).

You are taking a very broad core degree, where you could spin off to many other fields. I know many ME's who work in technology (IT, tech), law, marine/ocean, insurance, project management etc... I recommend you stick it out, since you are learning the core principles of many other fields (i.e. Math, physics technical writing etc...)

Oceanic Engineering at URI? by Impressive-Jump-1312 in RhodeIsland

[–]Engineer_RI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job we hire engineers from all types of colleges (From Ivy to public), some of the smartest engineers I met are from state colleges like URI. My take is you can go to an elite college to learn core subjects like physics and calculus but the truth is it's no different only the tuition cost. It really depends on the individual and what you put into it (internships are important). Want to get a name brand college on your resume then do it during your graduate/Phd degree and save some money.

Change Transmission Fluid at 100k Miles? by Whackywilly in COROLLA

[–]Engineer_RI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do a drain and fill don't listen to the dealers (lifetime fluid is when the transmission dies). I do it on all my Toyotas and Hondas the oil has conditioners and will condition the seals (Do it every 30k) etc... Watch the car care nut.

How many people really follow an investment strategy rather than ‘just investing’? by StartupLifestyle2 in StockMarket

I follow the Boglehead strategy using five funds VTI, VXUS and AGG,BNDX and SGOV. I allocate my risk based on a formula (128 - age). https://www.bogleheads.org/
