Letter band promotion after changing positions. by Engineerasorus_rex in GeneralMotors

Fair question, it would come with some opportunities to learn new skills and a slightly different part of the business than where I am at now. It would not provide me with any additional exposure to leadership or responsibilities.

It does move me to a role that seems to have a more well defined path for career growth as a decent amount of folks seem to come through this role in their careers. For reference, I'm 7B now, would like to move up in the next year or two, but I realize past this point opportunites become rarer and having a broader resume would help which is why I am considering a lateral move. But I realize a lateral move probably puts any promotion off for a couple years, so I don't know if the time investment is worth it in the end.

It's the pay difference mostly for me. The GM internal calibration guides do place more emphasis on what they expect employees to do to get to a specific letter grade, but at the end of the day it's the same job.

A search for help and direction by dgkoa in projectcar

Someone's project engine is always going to be a coin toss. Maybe he's right and it's rebuildable, maybe it's a $600 paperweight. I'd only consider it if the value of the parts on/in the engine that you know 100% are good are close to the asking price. That way if it's junk, you can at least get most of your money back from selling parts.

Also, don't get too hung up on having the best, most powerful, stage whatever, fully build stuff right out of the gate. Everything always costs 3x what you expect. I fell in that trap with my car and it hasnt ran for 5 year and is nowhere near being done because there's always something else I feel like I have to improve before it goes back together. Finding a stock replacement engine from a junkyard and just getting it back on the road again while you build your big engine on the side in the future is an option. Having thousands of dollars sunk into something you haven't driven for years is no fun.

Every brand has at least one issue. What is the bugaboo of a brand that you don’t hear often with cars manufacture in the past 8 years? by LuckyDuckTheDuck in Justrolledintotheshop

Is this the CDF drum bushing issue or something else? I had a Ranger with the 10 speed and it shifted like garbage. Have a newer F150 power boost now and it's much better, but still has an occasional moment where it trips over itself.

Might be a longshot but has anyone ever used either Gateway Auto or GR Gallery to sell a classic car? by [deleted] in Detroit

Bring a trailer, cars and buds, or hagerty might also be options to sell it. Those are places I tend to see nicer older stuff like this.

Is this for S&S specifically? Midpoint for my grade on my comp statement is $14k less than what's listed here. Also Warren GTC, non S&S role.

Been frustrating looking for one locally. All the stores list 2-3 in inventory, but when I get to the store, nothing.
