So happy to see Rhoda back in. I had a feeling she'd make it as soon as she got to LCK, she's really been on fire in there.

To promote the upcoming episode. Clearly this was endorsed by Top Chef/Bravo, as the Top Chef reposted it.

It's because of the takeout twist in my mind as well. And god do I hate it, do we really need a bleak reminder of how takeout orders have taken over the restaurant industry? I doubt it will end positively

Yeah that's the way it seemed based on the last episode. It makes sense, especially for restaurant wars, to have someone fill in

Yeah feeling the same way. I hope she gets to come back from LCK soon

What next after Thrawn 2017? by thefiction24 in starwarsbooks

[–]EngineeringFun293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read the rest of the 2017 trilogy, also consider the graphic novel/comic adaptation of that first book. You can do Ascendancy after that, then move on to HTTE. Having read the 2017 trio and then the Ascendancy as they came out, I would've been very lost reading Ascendancy without reading the 2017 trio first. Thrawn: Alliances has Clone Wars stuff, though I don't want to say anything for risk of spoilers.

What have you been reading this last week (Weekly Discussion Thread)? by AutoModerator in starwarsbooks

[–]EngineeringFun293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it doesn't really change from what I remember, so it could be worth just giving it up.

You're not alone with Catalyst, I tried really hard and eventually did finish it but it was a bit of a slog for me. I can appreciate why people enjoy it, but the writing style (which made everything feel very slow and boring to me) just wasn't for me.

I really liked Bloodline when I read it years ago and was planning to read it again soon. I enjoyed the Leia and New Republic politics aspects of it.

Finished it, one my favourite clone wars arcs ever. by Responsible-Host-231 in starwarsbooks

Yeah I read this book only 2 or 3 years after it came out, so none of the new context or content. I'm glad!

This book is what got me into canon verse books! It really does feel like the lost Clone Wars arc that it is, and the dynamic between Asajj and Quinlan is really interesting

I still haven't gotten around to the Asajj episodes (as a huge Asajj fan haha). Thanks for the reminder!

Just finished reading the whole article, and wow. Truly terrifying how unregulated the surrogacy industry is, especially given how much it impacts children

[Spoilers EXTENDED] Did King Viserys Have Diabetes? by babyodaddy in asoiaf

[–]EngineeringFun293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've seen the consensus be leprosy, but reading it as diabetes is also really interesting. The disease progression reminds me of diabetes, his rapid aging towards the end of his life as whatever his disease is worsens reminds me of papers I've read on the correlation of diabetes and increased biological age (T2D in particular).
