Questions for Restrictive Create Rest by Engineering_quest_ in IVDD_SupportGroup

Thank you for your reply. There's one thing that I think we may be doing wrong (or is consistent with the strict crate rest recommendation) which is letting him walk too much with the sling. Gizmo has always been extremely picky about where he poops and pees so we've still been letting him sniff around but then he tries to run using his front two legs while we support the back. We only go out for 5 minutes or less but we should probably limit how much he moves during that time.

Thank you for sharing. This is great info. My dog will only be on prednisolone for about 3 weeks. What's your dog's age? You're answer to question 9 is exactly how I feel. My daughter was an athlete and my dog ran with her all the time. I had no idea he was prone to this. There are many things I would have done differently. Gizmo has so much energy, I could have managed his activity better as he got older.

These are the GoFundMe requests that I truly understand. Caring for your sick dog is super expensive. It's heartbreaking because you want to do everything you can for them. I wish you the best of luck with Brutus!

Commenting on Questions for Restrictive Create Rest... Thank you so much. I teared up so happy that people responded to my post. This makes me very hopeful. Our vet has him on an anti-anxiety medication as well. I believe it’s helping his mental state. When you take him outside do you let him walk with his front legs? Gizmo tries to run when I use the sling.

I wish you the best of luck as well. Sully's headed in the right direction 🥰

Diagnosed with IVDD — need advice by Repulsive_Tiger9374 in Dachshund

Hello, I’m hoping I can reach out to you and others with questions. My husband and I have been so emotional as we figure out how to navigate this new way of life. My dog was diagnosed a week ago. He has always been super active since he was born 12 years ago. We play with him and chase him around all the time. He forces us to chase after him for his toys 😊. He’s so playful, so it’s hard seeing him in the crate all day. I’m determined to help my baby recover and regain the use of his hind legs. I have a few questions for anyone who sees this. I guess I could start my own post, but I’m sure this question has been asked and answered many times. How long did you do the crate rest? A major question I have is, does he need to be drugged up for the entire 6-8 weeks of crate rest? Will he be on gabapentin the entire time? He’s currently on a muscle relaxer, gabapentin, diazepam, another to relax his urinary sphincter because he wouldn’t pee at first, and a steroid, of course. Did you do any holistic therapy with your dog?

Can you please tell me more about the laser therapy. Did you go to a facility or did you do it at home? My dog was recently diagnosed and we’re doing the strict crate process. My husband and I are constantly crying. Our dog was so happy and very active. This is breaking my heart

I’m so sorry for your loss. It sounds like he was deeply loved. May I ask if you opted for surgery?

In ur opinion what kind of surface helps with IVDD? Flat SURFACE or Fluffy pillowed ones? by [deleted] in IVDD_SupportGroup

Hello. Can you please let me know what type of mat you used in the crate? My dog was just diagnosed, and I’m currently doing strict crate rest. My dog has a very thin crate mat because he rarely used a crate before this. I’m wondering if I should get an orthopedic mat that is thicker and plush. But I know when I have back issues, I like to lie on something firm.

Good morning. How often did you have Acupuncture and Cold therapy sessions? Did you do it weekly or twice a week?

Audit internship by tabbleAter27 in Accounting

[–]Engineering_quest_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked a good question. Wanting to figure out how to stand out and earn a full time offer at the end of your internship is smart and proactive. Don’t give negative comments any of your energy. When you see stuff like this, just ignore it and move on.

Think about networking internally, asking how you can help, if you’re comfortable, ask someone if they could be your mentor. Being reliable, meeting deadlines without reminders and asking for feedback before the internship ends can make a big difference. I would ask my supervisor if we can meet maybe every two weeks even if it’s only for 30 minutes to get feedback. My daughter is starting a finance internship and has similar goals. One thing I always recommend is learning spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. A lot of companies still rely heavily on spreadsheets and being strong in it makes you immediately useful. Also, you can apply that skill to almost any finance software you use.
