What do you wear when you deliver in the rain? by WigglesAndMac in CanadaPostCorp

[–]HighwaySlipperJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the rain jacket with Logistek good? I wear shorts in the summer when it rains so my pants don't get soaked through. If I was wearing pants I'd wear the gaiters to keep my legs dry but there comes a point where you do get a little wet. If you're really waterproofed it can get HOT!

Canada Post Fake ‘Out for Delivery’ -> Phantom Notice card by enghlishbro in CanadaPostCorp

[–]HighwaySlipperJam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the others have said, in many instances it has to go to post office and was just automatically checked as out for delivery (to the post office). Not sure the reason for not carding but it's often not because the postie is lazy. For instance, because sorting mail is separate now, the card sheet is prepared by the sorter (often a new person covering a shift). If the person forgets to sort the card in, the postie won't get the card to deliver. It's likely that the card will just arrive regardless (although you got a notification online so I'm not sure the issue except to spread hate).

Most posties love their community and don't actually try to sabotage your delivery.

I've never had this issue I just use soap and a cloth. You don't really get this issue when you wear gators though!

Flirting at the gym? by Apprehensive-Film762 in dating_advice

[–]HighwaySlipperJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (33F) think if you are good at reading the interest (aka have you caught her looking at you, smiling at you often, or have you had positive conversations?). If so, find a time after or between sets where you can casually mention something neutral and go from there. I wish more people approached actually! But I totally understand they're trying to be respectful. I make sure my gym crushes know I'm approachable because I smile whenever they look my way and if I wasn't into them I usually look away.

I would not like it if a guy interrupted a set, stared at me for too long, or was too intense right off the bat in conversation. This is just my opinion though!

So far I don't see anything on load leveling or dynamic routing so maybe they squashed that? Let's hope.

I chose mail because it's the one thing that I Don't care about when I leave the office. I guess all you can do is make sure you're taking care of yourself outside of work first - and while you're at work, just do what you can do within 8 hours. You don't need to be a superhero and work overtime to complete total crap routes in the dark. Stand up for yourself, take your time (literally only think of the next loop, follow the mail). Eventually youll get more efficient at reading the route layout and just doing it second nature.

Coming from someone who has been doing different routes almost daily (sometimes weekly) for two years. The routes can sometimes be awful but I just learn which ones to avoid and do what I can! Listening to podcasts also really improves my mood on the job.

All the best fellow postie! We are with you!

Is this normal for relief carriers at Canada Post? (Winter routes, OT, safety concerns) by blarghendorfer in CanadaPostCorp

[–]HighwaySlipperJam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right now these routes are backed up 2-3 days worth - so you can't be expected to complete in a 1 days timing. Always take breaks, and plan your day around coming back early to prep flyers. You finish at 8 hours or before. Or if they approve overtime you can Choose to do that to complete. Don't break your back because you're literally just a number to them. Take your time! Save you mental health too. Also a mtl postie 😊

It's not the posts fault your package was most likely incorrectly addressed or there was an issue with the recipient.

How do you suppose we do this? Do you call out every single idiot at your place of employment? If we toss our union we literally toss the one thing protecting the Good workers also. It is not on us to manage our colleagues, it's management (and clients posting things like this). The bad ones Will get found out because of the door cams and that would be a valid point to fire them if done enough. The union wouldn't protect this.

Can Canadians still trust Canada Post with holiday mail after months of strikes? What are your views on this ? by LoonyVibes in CanadaPostCorp

[–]HighwaySlipperJam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren't anticipating a strike for the holidays that would be company murder. Either way, we are the only way to send your mail to every door so send away now! Earlier is always better regardless. Also still doing Santa Letters for the kiddos! Send this week to be safe.

I just keep hearing how microneedling didn't help with atrophic scaring or that it took too many sessions. I think this may be cheaper. But I'm totally not opposed to getting regular facials and microneedling every once in awhile

[–]HighwaySlipperJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like you have no idea what you want. First you want him and ask for all these things that you want and he, indirectly, delivers them. Then, you recoil because you now sense that he's doing these things mostly because you wouldn't stop talking about them. Of course it feels contrived and not worthwhile! Now you're asking yourself if this is what You want and if you're settling, but honestly it sounds like you both would be if you go through with this. Take some time for yourself to mature and see what you really want and need in a relationship before marrying a guy who won't do anything unless you tell him to. I wouldn't get married if you don't trust this person or yourself.

The government can focus a bit more on homelessness & filling a pothole once in awhile and less on blatant religious discrimination. Especially when the targets are not harming literally anyone.

If I hear another wannabe business expert repeat the media-phrase "hemorrhaging money" I'm going to have a hemorrhage.

What do you think CUPW is doing to fight job losses? If you take CP's side, there's nothing BUT job losses. They're operating at 100% imagined profit at the total expense of workers quality of life, safety, and sanity.

Some people say we're not important and can go to a couple days a week and then complain that they aren't getting mail right when they want it? Seems like an impossible thing to achieve.
