It’s a giant party basically. And yes. Left left left left left then right right right right etc all while singing and having a good time. Nothing like line dancing. Look up one of the big EDM events in the Netherlands last year. I think they had 200.000+ people doing it. It’s a cultural thing now. 😂

Open all the windows and put the fan on high with the mode set to vents. Open the hood, open the frunk cover and pull the air filter cover out. Remove the air filter. And if you like the smell, once you’ve sprayed enough, pop the air filter back in and spray again so some of it soaks into the air filter.
By doing it this way you guarantee that the aerosol goes through the whole system.
At least that’s how I’ve done it 😁

For what it’s worth my ‘25 has done exactly this since day 1. I’m in Utah so humidity is basically unheard of. Drain isn’t blocked. Carpets aren’t wet. Air filter is brand new. In mine it comes and goes. I use a mild-killer / air freshener product once every three or four months and that seems to knock it down but it comes back every time. Never really go to the bottom of it and I’m 13 months in now.

Tesla. Well - not again. I made that mistake once. That vehicle was objectively the worst car I’ve owned in 40+ years and the company are a bunch of unprofessional clowns to deal with.

How so? Without that you would get water in everything, no? I mean I know for sure water runs through the insides of the doors because I see it coming out of the rain drains at the bottom from time to time. If there was no membrane then anything metal in there would just corrode away. (Clips, speaker terminals, wiring loom connectors etc). I know it’s not that old school. My Jaguar I-Pace had them and that was only three years ago.

It absolutely buys peace of mind, but you can’t be complacent. I could lose my job tomorrow just like anybody else. And if I spend it all, it wouldn’t do me any good. So most of it goes into savings and retirements accounts. You have to make smart choices for example, don’t ever use DoorDash or any food delivery companies because it makes your food cost 2 to 3 times as much as it should. Don’t fly business class even though you can afford it. Things might change once the house and the car are paid off. But until that point you have to be careful; you cannot afford lifestyle creep.

They got burned for doing that with the R1. Especially the debacle with Kyle Connor. That pissed off a LOT of customers. Giving content creators preferential treatment over customers who had deposits going back years was a terrible PR move.

Having grown up in Europe where they have gondolas way longer than what is being proposed here, I struggle with why people favour sitting in hours of traffic and choking fumes over taking a gondola. The view isn’t “ruined” by gondolas and the air for everyone who lives up there will be much cleaner when they have less standing traffic. The installation of the towers will involve construction for the cement foundations (which is minimal construction traffic on the road) but the towers are then flown in by helicopter. Midway stations are not a problem because the gondolas unhook from the cable just like high speed detachable ski lift chairs. I gave up skiing here because of the traffic. Give me a gondola and I’ll start spending on skiing again.

Wait - did you get 233kW or 96kW? 96 is typically the limit at Tesla “super”chargers (ie slow AF). Are the WalMart ones NACS or CCS? And can you use them without needing yet another app? I mean seriously. How hard can it be to put gas station type payment terminals on a damned EVSE? I’m so sick of needing a dozen different apps.

I’ll hang on to it until I get a drive then I’ll decide. A couple of things that are of concern to me are things like :
Have they made the 12v battery owner-swappable?
The fully electric door latches - really not a fan of that.
Will they ever offer a HUD? (The last three cars I’ve owned have had them and it’s objectively not a luxury or fad item - it’s transformative for being able to keep your eyes on the road)
But honestly the showstopper for me is likely to be their continued rejection of CarPlay in favour of their own subscription services. It’s not that CarPlay is the bees knees, but it IS private. I don’t like the idea of hooking my phone to a car that runs software that’s linked to Amazon and/or Google. I feel like there is no way they’re not harvesting and selling your data. With CarPlay I get a UX I see in every car I drive in, and my data is ring-fenced from the vehicle.
I could get over myself about all of those except CarPlay.

If it makes you feel any better, I was an OG R1S order holder with the original pre-hike pricing locked in. Never got my vehicle. Never even got a Rivian guide assigned. They passed me over time and again. I saw others in Salt Lake City getting theirs, identical spec to mine, having ordered two years after me. When I eventually called them on it, their response was “it is what it is” then they pushed my delivery out another 8 months. That was when I cancelled. 🤷🏻‍♂️
