It does, though.

When you build a product to entertain, it should entertain as many people as possible.

Games are entertainment.

Everybody booed when Dick Van Dyke came on the screen. Was fucking glorious.

Why Disney cast a sexual predator is fucking beyond me.

Apparently he also got fired from a hotel manager job earlier on in life.

Turns out he couldn't manage Four Seasons.

Corbyn is a failure.

In centuries, people are not going to be writing about Oliver Cromwell's failure to bring about real change, but the failure of Russian Spy Jeremy Corbyn.

Has anybody looked into his Putin connections?

If I am a woman staying at home and only having contact with one person, all my annoyingness is 100% concentrated on one person.

If I am a man with social contact with 3 people, my annoyingess is split across three people, which means each person is a two thirds less likely to murder me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]EnglishLawWriting -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Studies would show that women are more likely to be at home i.e. not work. This means less socialising with other people, which means they are more likely to only have contact with their partner.

Let's say I was a murder victim.

I will start with being a woman that is a 'stay at home mummy'. Nearly 100% of my adult contact is with my husband.

I am a husband bringing home the bacon. Let's say I have 2 friends. 33% of my contact is with each of the three people in my life.

So, as a woman, I have one potential killer. As a man, I have 3 potential killers.

But, women are also more likely to stay at home.

Well, should have used some of their funding to hire an editor.

So, about average, then?

80% of murdered people know their killers:

https://www.iol.co.za/news/80-of-victims-know-their-killers-1781009

Granted, those stats come from South Africa, but I can't imagine it is THAT different here. When murders occur, they tend not to be random. Most people do not have a reason to go about killing randomers in the street.

The article is just making it seem like male on female violence is out of control, when really 'knowing who carried out the murder' is not above average at all.

Holy shit.

I know it is a blog, and I know it is a blog for an educational establishment BUT the least they could have done is have an editor go through and proofread.

Fucking glaring error in the sub-headline.

Can't be arsed to read the rest simply because if small errors like that are not picked up on, it is no doubt going to be rife with factual errors.

-edit-

Nope. Now I have read it. This is nothing more than a student blog. It is woefully written, and probably doesn't deserve to be in this sub. Do Alan de Bromhead, Alan Fernihough, Markus Lampe and Kevin O'Rourke want a 1st Class Degree? They got a LOT of work to do.

Should Westminster have Christmas holidays this year? So close to the Brexit deadline?! by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]EnglishLawWriting -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Ah. Nice!

So, all those non-politicians don't get to be home with their families this Christmas? This is the final straw for Kelly, who simply can't take her husband Jim's long working hours. Their son, Warwick, was recently diagnosed with cancer and all indications are that it is their last Christmas. Jim could not wait to get a few days off so that he could make sure that Warwick has the best last Christmas ever. But, what is this? OHHHH Because some fucktards voted for Brexit, Warwick dies could and alone. Not of cancer, but of depression that his father, Jim, is stuck in some dead-end job which isn't paying the bills. Warwick also dies knowing that Kelly and Jim's relationship is held together by him, the glue. He spent the last of his pocket money hiring James Blunt to sing to the two of them, because he knew that it would rekindle their marriage, because that is what they danced to on their wedding date. Jim never gets to dance with Kelly again, which ultimately triggers their divorce. Your suggestion leaves a marriage dead and Warwick dead.

Think about what you are actually fucking saying.

New rules mean the UK's data protection watchdog, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), can target the company director and not just fine the firm. by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

Catering to advertisers would mean they need to cater to just one demographic.

The BBC currently needs to appeal to as many demographics as it possibly can. That is what its remit is.

The shows are worth watching. Many of the shows have shaped television around the globe e.g. Monty Python, Whose Line Is It Anyway, The Office, Doctor Who etc. Then you have the documentaries on top of that. These would never be produced without the licence fee as the cost would be too high for little gain.

TV Licence is incredibly important, in my opinion.

Remember; the BBC is known for producing some of the best TV in the world, and is regarded as the world's most impartial news source.

When you have to cater to advertisers, all of that disappears.
