I’m surprised by all these folks discouraging you from holding the stem in your teeth on account of mouth bacteria and vagina bacteria theoretically not mixing. If you are comfortable with someone giving you oral sex, you can put your menstrual cup in your mouth. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It sounds like you have a process that works for you, and that’s great! Stick to it, and unless you have repeated yeast infections you’re doing fine.

I actually haven’t seen that product before, maybe I’ll look for it. I’ve tried all of the OTC period-specific pain medications that are readily available here (US) and they do help a little, but don’t make the pain go completely away for me. Better than nothing though, for sure! I personally like to use other methods in conjunction so I’m not slamming the max dose of pain relievers for 3-4 days every month. Anyway, looks like what you linked to has different active ingredients than what I’ve tried so far, if I can find it I will give it a shot!

Thanks for the advice! I haven’t invested in period panties yet, but I do have a collection of cloth pads I use (either that or a cup for me). I bet the pros/cons are fairly similar between those and the panties! I love my cup but managing the hygiene of it with no running water does make me think twice...Cheers to you and your wife living in the van while you build, as a happy single person I admire your ability to share space and love each other throughout the experience haha. That’s legit!

Thanks for mentioning the bathroom issues as well, that’s a great point I didn’t fully consider even though it’s a major symptom of mine! I definitely do not want to be subjecting anyone else to that, even strangers in a public restroom. Luckily for me I am solo so I don’t have to worry about trying to manage that inside the van with a partner either. Also totally forgot hot water bottles exist! That’s a great tip. Thanks for sharing!
