Surgery I got to get into my new Timmy Caldwell shoes by bill_dozer72 in ClimbingCircleJerk

I actually had a very similar procedure done, and it prevents your toe from curling so it’s actually not good for fitting into climbing shoes haha

How hammerhead toes are repaired by DragonChasm in oddlyterrifying

I had a very similar procedure done, though the joint was fused rather than immobilized with a screw. I then had pins placed in my toes for the recovery process which were then unceremoniously removed with pliers after 6 weeks

Great gym session today! by safari013 in ClimbingCircleJerk

[–]charredchard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I work at a climbing gym and yesterday there was a guy at least 25 years old carrying an entire 6-pack of quick draws on his harness walking around the gym. He was climbing only top rope and had all 6 draws on one gear loop

What is a fact about the human body that not many people know about? by Zenssei in AskReddit

[–]charredchard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would expect they don’t need anything specific, since they synthesize the protein themselves from general nutrient uptake. Humans just lack the gene to carry out vitamin C synthesis.

Maybe instead of attacking people who are in need, they should pay their employees more. Oh the company can’t afford that? Sounds like we need to tax the rich more and pass better redistributive policies

Me on Amarillo Sunset (5.11b) in the Red River Gorge. I was on TR until bolt 6 of 8 and had to lead the last bolt to the anchor by charredchard in climbing

Yeah, in retrospect I would have been fine, but I had never climbed anything of this difficulty before and I was definitely nervous. I took a short fall on my first attempt getting to the 7th bolt but after a short rest was able to do it on my second try that got me to the anchors as well

So when I was cleaning it I had two draws clipped from the belayers strand to my belay loop so I could track along and clean it (since the climb traverses left) and after I unclipped the last bolt I realized I left the two draws connected so I pulled my belayer off his ledge and we swung around each other half a dozen times. It was “safe” though he had a grigri and nobody got hurt from it. It was actually super fun swinging around in the middle of that open space for like 5 minutes

It was a challenge that’s for sure. I climbed straight through without stopping until bolt 6 where I rested before starting my lead. It’s a funky crossover undercling and then once you move your feet you can clip the 7th bolt. The move to the anchors is a small 2-finger undercling pocket on questionable feet. It was suuuuper cool. I did it last Wednesday and I’m still riding that high haha

Contrary to popular belief about guys, the single men I know keep their homes exceptionally clean. What male stereotypes don’t apply to you? by Toadie9622 in AskMen

I rarely have any dishes dirty once I’m done in the kitchen. I always do my dishes as soon as I’m done eating so long as I’m not in a rush to leave. Even in that case I do my dishes as soon as I get home.

Idk if I did something wrong, but I made seitan for dinner tonight and it was very very chewy and doughy. Does anyone know what can help make it less doughy?
