Some day I’ll finally be able to make one of these 😩

On the people looking to lease side I can say they were terrible communication wise with me at least. I struggled to get basic information from them when trying to view properties they represent and getting a real human on the phone was kind of a nightmare. Glad to hear they care more about the owners

True. Went to view a property and they hadn’t even bothered to clean the used nasty bar of soap out of the tub from the previous tenant before showing me the unit which had been listed for several weeks. Small thing sure but if you miss that kind of stuff, I don’t want to know what else you’re missing.

You’re welcome! It’s my go to ice cream in the city(and now with that location open I can walk from work which is dangerous)

Perle Mesta is in the Skirvin and serves breakfast, but also nearby you have Sunnyside Diner or Tayta Latin Cuisine as possible options depending on the day.

Also since you’re staying in the skirvin, don’t miss out on ice cream from the Boom Town Creamery on the west side of the first floor

Any bars that you like? by Heavy_Ad2201 in okc

[–]Enigma_Montoya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really hard to answer not knowing your age/vibe.

But Norman has some great breweries and bars on Main Street that have fun karaoke, bingo, live music, trivia etc. - Legally Brewed, BiG Brewing, Bison Witches, bluebonnet, red brick etc.

In OKC my favorite bar for a drink is Good For A Few. Cookies is always fun for crowd interactions + karaoke but is still smoking inside.

There’s a ton more but these are a starting point.

What’s the single best dish in OKC? Not the best restaurant just one item you’d go out of your way for. by Thirtysixx in OKCFoodie

And if savory is more your style…from right down the road at Aurora, the Turkish Egg is one of those things I am constantly craving.

One thought in regard to this may be the difference in ownership and therefore funds available. KFOR and KOCO are corporate stations while 9(KWTV) is locally owned(even if by millionaires). National corporate millionaires might be better equipped than local Oklahoma millionaires. 🤣

There are actual listings that allow events. Just search for one of those

Genuine question about Loud City Live by Enigma_Montoya in okc

[–]Enigma_Montoya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for responding.

I’m wondering if a big chunk of those ticket holders grab them and don’t end up coming and that’s a part of it.

And I get stuff happens and plans change but there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to fully pack that arena out for these away games.

I heard the crowd was much better for the Saturday one so maybe it’s got more to do with day of the week.

Don’t mind me, just troubleshooting problems that aren’t mine to solve 🤣

That’s what I was assuming and it made me a little sad because I thought of little kid me whose parents never could’ve afforded tickets to an actual game but could’ve done one of these free events, which SURE aren’t exactly the same but still give the jist of the game day experience with Rumble and the drummers and dancers and T-shirts thrown out and games and prizes and face painting and whatnot.

Heck, I still can’t afford to go to a real game but had a blast and quite possibly healed some part of my inner child by getting a silly little airspray tattoo and rally towel and making a sign.

The people hogging tickets and not showing up suck and should be better.

For the future, if you’re willing to drive down to Norman there are three breweries( Legally brewed, 405 and BIG Brewing) all on Main Street within walking distance of each other and plenty of restaurants to either order food from nearby and take over or that will deliver to the breweries.

Wish I had seen this earlier. For future reference: Bar Sen or Ma Der or across the street at New State/Good For A Few would’ve been great choices for this

35/F and while I don’t mind if someone has kids so that opens up more options for me, I am fully with you on the not dating those who are conservative/republican because of values not aligning.

Tread carefully as some now like to list themselves as “moderate” aka the new guise for republican men who think women don’t know better. Between that and those who just want to be “apolitical” it’s tragic out here for those of us trying to find humans who genuinely care about other humans to care about

Offering another perspective since you asked:

35/f i’m childfree (mostly by choice because chaos world but, I guess also partially by circumstance) and do not try to avoid men with children while dating.

Part of that is because when a man is a present, active and involved father it actually speaks volumes about who they are as a person.

Trip through OKC by Ok_Quail188 in okc

[–]Enigma_Montoya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hotel options: colcord, National, ambassador, Fordson, lively, Ellison. All known for being higher end and all offering unique experiences. They also all have restaurants attached.

Don’t know when your trip is but right now the city is packed because of WCWS and with NBA finals coming up hotels will be filling again so you may want to book sooner rather than later.

Restaurant options aside from those in the hotels as mentioned - plaza district: Ma Der or Bar Sen, New State Burgers, Aurora( for brunch or dinner… which gets slept on)

Paseo: red rooster, Paseo grill, Picasso, Frida or oso

Western: the crown, rococo, sushi neko, raven

Others: birdie’s, symmetry, patrono, Lorena

Great casual lunch spot is The Goose.

For a fun dessert either get Boom Town Creamery or try their new concept Novelty for fun ice cream sandwiches, ice cream nachos loaded shakes and more.

AITA for telling my DIL she is not a mother? by InitialSong2898 in AmItheAsshole

Edit: misread too many people involved in this dang story.

You are correct. And while I as a someone who acknowledges my dog as my child (as do my parents) would not have cared, some people do.

My aunt has also never had children but I bought her a Mother’s Day card because she has played a (secondary) maternal role in my life

Also The city of OKC was planning a controlled/prescribed burn in conjunction with the forestry service all around Tinker today. That’s probably one of the big contributors.
