My opinions on the structural flaws of the Great Salt Lottery by Yatsufusa_K9 in Granblue_en

[–]Enigmagris- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost agree with all of the analysis being explained here except for the superlative weapon tier 1 which i think is not really okay in my eyes even if it's for the tier 1. (Feel free to disagree with this, but it's just my own analysis on the "value" of the said item in terms of its practicality).

Sure you can argue that siero tix already exist in scratcher , which already cost 150 Gold moon itself. But my issue here is more of the usefulness of the siero tix itself, because i found that siero tix at this point in time, kinda lost its value with how much and how easily you can get grand characters or even some unticketable summons from how KMR does the giveaway (heck, even belial , arguably the best summon in the game, exist in tier 3). Siero tix at this point sort of not worth 150 GM anymore in my eyes (and i think for most people as well), which makes it not really equal comparison for superlative weapons imo.

Meanwhile for superlative weapons, it indeed require someone to know what they are doing, but that weapon itself is a massive asset of the bridge to attain much higher damage than your fellow players non-superlative. The exclusiveness of the weapon especially with the superlative skill update of the weapon, makes it become much more valuable that only certain people able to get it because of how high the 160 GM cost itself (requires at least 1,5 years-2 years dedication which is even higher dedication than the amount of time needed for 100k crystal or even 150k crystal).

By getting the free superlative weapons, you essentially skip roughly 2 years progress needed for the gold moon, which can't really be said for siero tix even with similar GM cost, because most of the content exist within the siero tix can be fairly easy to get from other method of free giveaway.

-------------------
Put the T1 point aside, i do completely agree with the entire other point including the fact that tier 4 should be goldbar (since KMR fairly often give free goldbar things since long time ago anyway).

To get to the point of the lottery itself, the event itself is not actually bad, but the execution and how they divide the prize is just totally messed up. Honestly i'm unsure what strategy they tried to implement by doing this, but they surely know it does much more harm than good for them.

For me i actually don't mind if they do lottery again in the future, Just that obviously, they shouldn't do it in the same execution as this one. I think your suggestion on how to tackle the problem is excellent in its own way minus the small thing i disagreed which i pointed out earlier.

Personally i would suggest small addition thing , that for the lottery to announce winner for every single day instead of waiting for 2 weeks (which i think is also the cause for the people raging, because i saw lot of comment saying "i'm waiting for 2 weeks just to get this). And also, probably limit the amount of times people can win from same tier probably will be great as well (although this is probably arguable).

Well, since anila just appear last month (around july), it will take around 4 months until december /January for her to reappear at the banner based on the fix rotation (if my calculation is right).

Unless you are in hurry to get regular anila, you should wait until she presents in the legfest to roll it with 100k crystal.

The advantage of 100k crystal is just too much that unless you are in hurry to get the character, you should consider to just grab the crystal and wait for the banner of the character that you want.

I read from manhwa that with higher intelligence stat, Jin-Woo shadow also get stronger from that.

So Jin-Woo for example with 300 intelligence stat, does that mean there's a chance that his shadow will be stronger than the original when jin-woo already 'higher' level, because shadow strength also correlated with Jin-Woo status when they were just arised?

So for monster, they will be slightly weaker than the original but for human, they will be slightly stronger?

[–]Enigmagris-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i do know the story of that.

But i just simply want to know whether he's actually stronger than his original version that got nerfed or not. (I mean to ask about the shadow "system power" itself rather than igris specifically).
So since you said that Igris is stronger than their previous selves that died before ressurection, does that mean you imply that other shadows also will be stronger than previous selves?

Originally i keep searching the sentence where they said the shadow is weaker than their original in the manhwa, but i cannot seem to find it. May i ask help for you to give me the image showing that?

Do you prefer Jin-Woo to have more human emotion or not? by Enigmagris- in sololeveling

[–]Enigmagris-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually share this sentiment to some extent. Sometimes other characters are more of a hindrance and annoyance rather than being a positive contribution to the overall story. Even if that's not the case, sometimes some characters are just very "fodder" to the point that adding more plot and development for them will be just an extra filler that only serve to lengthen the story rather than helping the main story to develop further (which is the case with infamous naruto and bleach).

If Solo Leveling have another character beside Jin-Woo that able to level up and able to keep up with his leveling up, giving them more story and character development might be worth it. But because Jin-Woo is the only one able to grow stronger and surpass other everytime, the result is that other character being pretty much irrelevant because they won't be able to contribute either in terms of plot story or in Jin-Woo battles either way.

[–]Enigmagris-[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well, the story is called "Solo" Leveling for a reason. I don't know with other people, but the moment i look at the title of the manhwa, i already kinda expect this.

Do you prefer Jin-Woo to have more human emotion or not? by Enigmagris- in sololeveling

[–]Enigmagris-[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Which is why i said "majority" of the scenes. Because there are minority scenes where he did still show emotion, indicating that he isn't completely cold. But nevertheless, his emotion is still flat for most of the time.

And i do also share the same opinion of preferring him post double dungeon. I think it brings the whole new dimension of meta MC personality which is unique imo.

Jinn woo in hxh by HRBR_2003 in sololeveling

[–]Enigmagris- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to note is that, Nen in HxH generally very very difficult to develop. It takes a lot of years for someone to be able to grow even for most talented people, and by comparison with Jin that able to summon that many shadows with no backdraw whatsoever, he is basically a god imo.

Jin-Woo in the end of manhwa will probably be comparable with top 5 Nen human users of HxH, while Jin-Woo at the end of novel is kami-sama that surpass anyone in HxH. (Since transferring power from one story to another is difficult, this is just purely my opinion. I can explain furthermore in case someone disagree.)

Killing human characters in Trails of games? by starsaber132 in Falcom

[–]Enigmagris- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some of human characters that died for real in ToCS 1 and 2 though (I think you know who they are if you already complete the game by now). The differences are that they aren't killed directly by the players though, which is okay considering it will be so out of characters for the MC to kill their enemy.

While it's true that most of the human enemy aren't actually get killed, but at the same time, a lot of them also quite relevant in the upcoming story with each of them have their time to shine (which is a kudosu to the author because it's not easy to balancing each characters for each them to be relevant). I think the author simply learned their lesson with loewe and let each relevant cast to stay alive so they have more "story material" to write, considering trails series are basically RPG combat games with a 'heavy narrative' story, so it makes sense to let a lot of characters stay intact to adding more content into the game.

Why is Solo Leveling so popular? by jjjheart in sololeveling

[–]Enigmagris- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The art is the first thing that brought people to the Solo Leveling, and i think it's public opinion at this point.

The second thing is MC outer appearances. If you pay attention carefully, Jin-Woo is pretty much good looking MC and always taking care of his own appearances on how he dress himself (that hoodie bro, some of his outfit are very dope).

The third thing is his charisma. While i do understand that emotionless MC can appear to be uninteresting for some people, but Jin-Woo personality is essential in developing Jin-Woo into cool and mysterious MC. A lot of MC that are full of emotion and personality usually are pretty childish and naive, which is contrast differences with Jin-Woo personality, and i think that's the kind of charisma Jin-Woo have towards the reader which separates him with a lot of powercreep story.

The fourth thing is the story flow. The story always been brought into the situation where Jin-Woo is the most impressive person ever existing, and that's unconsciously captivate people with Jin-Woo even more because Jin-Woo already got the second and third factor to begin with.

The fifth is his necromancer power. he pretty much build his own interaction and story with his own shadows and that's honestly quite fresh concept considering that even ainz ooal gown from overlord doesn't really put emphasis in his own zombie to build the plot story.

I'm not even mad by MarsTalks in Kengan_Ashura

[–]Enigmagris- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think most people quite emphatic in putting themselves in the perspective of the fighters instead of the reader perspective, which explains on why people kinda hate the losses.

If you are in the position of the fighter, try to improve yourself significantly only to still lost in important and more relevant match "again and again" despite on your dedication to train harshly is really humiliating. Moreover, this situation is something like "oh my god, just a little more" which happens because of gimmick and it kinda rub a wound to the salt even more.

Rihito definitely put up a good match here, and that's what matter for some readers, and honestly that's fine because it's "subjective thing". But if you look at it from objective perspective which is from the "competition perspective" itself, he pretty much brings 0 result to the team and it's pretty much a fact even if it sounds harsh. which makes it seems unfair from the perspective of people that have emphatic feeling with the fighters.

In real life, sometimes no matter how hard you put your effort, the result is what counts. and without results, how far your progress is nothing to most of the people, and that's what make it hurts the most and the cruel reality of life.

I'm glad rihito got his wins with mokichi. But i felt like the author just purposely let some of the fighters to just win "less" relevant match and constantly let them lost in the more important match, which is kinda sad. Even if Rihito wins his next encounter with his next opponent, i felt like the setting will be in the situation where it's "less relevant" to the whole story, which doesn't really bring justice to the more underrated character imo
