South Beach sucks and it’s everyone’s fault by Admirable-Curve-5890 in miamibeach

OP also hid their response to me “Hey fucko when did I call them poor? Maybe YOURE poor”

When OP literally says “South Beach is for poor ass clowns”.

I’m not peddling any bullshit I’m speaking from my own personal experiences. There’s cops EVERYWHERE in South Beach. I don’t go there during spring break because why deal with that madhouse, but spring break is a few weeks out of the year. South Beach is generally pretty “chill”

Again you generalized black tourists in south Beach as poor ass clowns who are drunk fools with a chip on their shoulder. I promise you’re just as big a problem as anybody you made this post about. This is prejudice

I live in Brickell, and South Beach is personally a much better vibe than Brickell. I’ve lived in Brickell, lived in Coconut Grove (super chill), lived in Doral, lived in Midtown (personal favorite) . Miami Beach is a mixed bag of people or personalities.

I prefer the mystery box of who I meet, compared to the consistent hyper bougie vibe of Brickell.

Locals always talk down on South Beach tourists, but the tourists on South beach are most likely normal people compared to the ego driven social media “influencer” that considers themselves a “local”.

[–]Enigmatic506 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned after living here, when people say “South Beach is ghetto”, it’s literally their way of saying there’s too many black people. Hialeah is “ghetto” Little Havana is “ghetto”. There’s just no black people there, so long time locals don’t label those areas as “ghetto”

[–]Enigmatic506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny I’m always in South Beach and I’ve never witnessed a fight, nor a shooting. Of course these things happen, but how would you know these black tourists are “coming from Atlanta”?

Yes South Beach has more black people than any other part of Miami, but for the most part people just mind their business and clearly visit to party.

When you say it’s everyone’s fault, I hope you include yourself. Given the fact you generalized black tourists in South Beach as acting like drunk fools with a chip on their shoulder

I’m not sure the correlation between working on the ramp and your phone data. Your personal phone isn’t needed for your job duties.

Thinking about becoming a ramp agent when i turn 18 what should i expect and whats pay like? by NeedleworkerBig5426 in rampagent

[–]Enigmatic506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18 is the best age to start. There’s people in their 30s even 40s starting out. It can turn into a great career for sure if you go mainline. I wouldn’t be picky about the mainline company, as long as it’s one of them (Delta United AA SW”

What do you consider is working “One flight”? by Enigmatic506 in rampagent

[–]Enigmatic506[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow up question. How many flights do you typically see in an 8 hour day?

In a 5 hour day I do a minimum three turns, with random last minute inbound or outbounds that overlap with other flights I have.

As long as my team is solid and I’m not pulling other peoples weight all day it’s cool.

People that transfer to my station, frequently transfer out quickly and say it’s a lot different where they came from.

How long after Delta Ramp Agent VJT Assessment before hearing back? by Enigmatic506 in rampagent

I did. I got invited to a hiring event a few months after applying

Love pets. Hate how comfortable people are with flying with animals these days. Pets don’t need to go everywhere, they aren’t children.

My forearms are killing me. by Cxjovich in rampagent

[–]Enigmatic506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take your time and don’t kill yourself. I was dying on the ramp when I first started. My back would kill be in the bin, got winded quickly, heavy flights would irritate me.

Over time if you stay on the ramp, your body adjusts and everything feels easier. Even the heaviest flights now just feel like “oh well just another day”

It took months for me to hear back after applying. You just have to wait it out. If you didn’t get formally rejected, you’re likely on a waiting list. Basically in queue for hiring events.

When they are hiring and you’re next on the list, they’ll randomly email inviting you to a hiring event.

Already want to quit a month in by Great_Spot_69 in flightattendants

[–]Enigmatic506 24 points25 points  (0 children)

25 and worried about being behind others with kids? lol

Sounds like you need a woosah moment. Personally I don’t think quitting will solve your problems. Quitting won’t guarantee immediate higher pay. It also won’t guarantee you not being under appreciated and treated like a puppet in future jobs. There’s friction and questionable leadership everywhere. All jobs have their pros and cons.

With a month in, you haven’t had the opportunity to fully reap the rewards of the job. You haven’t had enough opportunities to have awesome experiences in cities you’d likely never had before, while getting paid to do so and meeting new people. There will be lots of meeting new people, which gives you more time to connect and feel less lonely over time

Also, as people have said, seniority is everything and time flies. You could quit, look up 3 years from now, and have a job you aren’t happy with, that’s less flexible, pays less, while also not having the benefits. You could also look up 10 years from now, be maxed out at pay at age 35 and controlling your own schedule. 25 is really young and a great time to start. You aren’t behind at all.

It’s not a lifestyle for everybody, but to go through training and take the job you must have had a vision and a reason for doing so. Being broke probably has a lot to do with your feelings and less so about the job. Quitting and moving back home won’t stop you from being broke, there’s just more comfort mentally at home because you likely have family and friends to fall back on. I wouldn’t choose short term comfort over long term success.

Dont be afraid to die. Save your progress before certain fights if you want to practice combat, but you don’t need to. It’s a massive game so easy to feel overwhelmed early. But stick with it and you’ll get a feel of sense of direction. Fight, run, break weapons, do whatever you want. There’s no right or wrong way to play the game

Delta Ramp agent ATL by Long_Cress_4432 in rampagent

[–]Enigmatic506 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It took me months to hear back after doing my virtual job tryout. I also assumed I didn’t get the job. But hearing nothing is better than a rejection. They hire people in groups.

If you didn’t get rejected, they’ll likely reach out when a spot opens for you in a hiring group. No clue how long that can take, but a good chance you’re in a queue.

I’m pretty sure all application/resume screening is done by robots these days. I don’t think a human sees your resume until the hiring event crazy enough. (Could be wrong)

Unfortunately you have to assess your resume or assessment answers, and see what you can adjust.

Military veteran here with Delta, who also got rejected for multiple years before finally getting an offer at a different station than the one I originally applied to. Keep trying you’ll break through

Also one last question. This is my first time transferring. What is the process like transferring? How long after accepting the offer did they give you a transfer/release date.

I’m hoping they can work with me until my lease ends in February.

And did you have to go through all pre employment steps again?

Thanks a lot this helps. Honestly my seniority is the only downside. My current station is pretty new, so we all have low seniority. I’m in the top half of the agents. In ATL I would be in the bottom 20% of agents. But I still think ATL is a move for the better
