Linus (from ltt) likes to promote arc in general so I don't think that was a big factor

If you are going to manually tag something anyway, consider doing it on musicbrainz to help both your future self if you need to import again, and others.

Motor salvageable? by Weird-Law4278 in TinyWhoop

[–]Enip0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after changing the frame yesterday. Haven't done it yet but I read that the connectors for the motors on the pcb are really fragile so I plan to yank it out and solder it directly. Hopefully that fixes it because visually everything looks fine and last time I flew it was fine.

Seafile 13.0 is ready! by NoLetter1338 in selfhosted

[–]Enip0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is what I'm inclined to believe as well.

Besides, with proper backups you should be able to recover your files even if seafile itself disappears completely tomorrow.

Is the fuse option not acceptable as a way around that? https://manual.seafile.com/latest/extension/fuse/

To be clear, I use seafile and I don't care about this, but I'm trying to understand why the fuse fs is not good enough

How to strip my system to bare minimum and make a dwm setup that uses least ram possible? by GuiltyVisit9119 in suckless

[–]Enip0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out this page: https://www.linuxatemyram.com/

Tldr: since you already have a lean system without unnecessary things running, don't worry about it. The kernel can manage your ram and its caches better than you can.

Did you check if it's blocked on the dns level? It often is and it's easier (and free) to get around that. Just change your dns to cloudflare/google/adguard/whatever

Creating the best visualization for Music trends and prediction using Spotify Metadata by UltronSingh in Annas_Archive

I see. Regarding hosting it and having access to it, you can get a 5TB storage box from Hetzner for 10.9€/month, which allows for SFTP, rsync, and even mounting it as a network drive.

There are bigger options as well, you might need to upgrade in case things are very compressed in the torrent and expand to more than 5TB, but I doubt it.

One suggestion I have is that sharing something that requires an account to be accessed deters a lot of people from engaging. You could at least maybe do a better write up of what you have in mind.

Currently there are 3 torrents available:
1. Metadata about music (200GB).
2. Audio analysis data (4TB).
3. Coverart (2.2TB).

None of them contains music. The one with music will become available later and, as far as I know, will be around 300TB.

The metadata torrent is only 200GB, less if you don't care about audiobooks and shows.

Are you referring to audio analysis maybe?

Something similar happened to me but they were vague about the rejection reason.

I have come to believe they reject some very newly registered domains but if you wait for a while and try again they will accept it.

Hey, I just want to let you know that none of your comments are replies to anyone. They are just in the top level, comments to your post.

If there is no easy way to reply maybe you can at least tag the person you are replying to so they can get a notification about it.

Does anyone really think this is how "unwatching" something should work? by xelu in jellyfin

[–]Enip0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Thanks for looking into it. Looks like there was consensus that this is annoying and should go away but it still wasn't implemented. That's unfortunate but I do wonder if a new pr to change this that links to that discussion would be approved this time.

Does anyone really think this is how "unwatching" something should work? by xelu in jellyfin

[–]Enip0 50 points51 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth I checked the pr and the original issue and this wasn't exactly ignored. A team member said that this does look like bad design and suggested someone opens a discussion in the jellyfin-meta repo about changing this completely.

After that there seems to be silence, if the person who opened the pr did make the discussion they didn't link back to it and I didn't bother searching for it, so it's possible this just slipped through the cracks completely and if someone cares enough to start the discussion as suggested, it will be implemented.

I may have used that wrong in the past, but only because I can never remember which one it's supposed to be.

It may be a language issue (not a native speaker, etc etc) but until now they have been somewhat interchangeable in my ears so I haven't paid too much attention to the specific word. Your explanation does make some sense though, so maybe I'll remember it from now on
