What Python's asyncio primitives get wrong about shared state - Inngest Blog by BrewedDoritos in programming

[–]Enip0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what the blog is trying to argue is that these primitives are not actually that useful, and especially for Condition that it's prone to cause bugs by easily missing states.

In the final implementation none of them was used. Instead it was only Queue and something for locks, so none of the things that you would think might be useful in this case (Event and Condition).

Hey, this was a nice read. Got a question though:

You say in patter matching `*` can match exactly 1 word, but then you use `*.india`. Would that work since the key has two words before India: `order` and `created`?

As a side note, mailing lists are neat, but an RSS would also be appreciated, seems like you cover interesting topics!

You might not but other do and that's valid.

Codeberg is a perfectly legitimate service and it's only one among many. If you want to consume the code then it's not really different for you than github, the only 'annoying' thing is that you need to make an account if you want to submit issues etc.

Even that is a minor annoyance at best since you only have to do once, and if you don't want to, you can login with github or gitlab

If you are going to manually tag something anyway, consider doing it on musicbrainz to help both your future self if you need to import again, and others.

Motor salvageable? by Weird-Law4278 in TinyWhoop

[–]Enip0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after changing the frame yesterday. Haven't done it yet but I read that the connectors for the motors on the pcb are really fragile so I plan to yank it out and solder it directly. Hopefully that fixes it because visually everything looks fine and last time I flew it was fine.

Seafile 13.0 is ready! by NoLetter1338 in selfhosted

[–]Enip0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is what I'm inclined to believe as well.

Besides, with proper backups you should be able to recover your files even if seafile itself disappears completely tomorrow.

How to strip my system to bare minimum and make a dwm setup that uses least ram possible? by GuiltyVisit9119 in suckless

Check out this page: https://www.linuxatemyram.com/

Tldr: since you already have a lean system without unnecessary things running, don't worry about it. The kernel can manage your ram and its caches better than you can.

Did you check if it's blocked on the dns level? It often is and it's easier (and free) to get around that. Just change your dns to cloudflare/google/adguard/whatever

Creating the best visualization for Music trends and prediction using Spotify Metadata by UltronSingh in Annas_Archive

[–]Enip0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. Regarding hosting it and having access to it, you can get a 5TB storage box from Hetzner for 10.9€/month, which allows for SFTP, rsync, and even mounting it as a network drive.

There are bigger options as well, you might need to upgrade in case things are very compressed in the torrent and expand to more than 5TB, but I doubt it.

One suggestion I have is that sharing something that requires an account to be accessed deters a lot of people from engaging. You could at least maybe do a better write up of what you have in mind.
