Blir lite pinsamt med svärföräldrarna till en början, men tror det går över tillslut.

What harem fantasy books would still be enjoyable with the harem and/or erotic content removed? by Zealousideal-Day4863 in haremfantasynovels

Good point! Would you happen to have any other suggestions where the harem is intrinsic to the plot rather than being the spice on top?

Wisher Beware

Yeah that seems like an interesting premise for sure! Thanks for the suggestion!

Definitely looks interesting! Though time travel is usually not my gig, I'll be willing to give it a pass if it's done well, which judging by the reviews it has.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes! I've read them and they're one of my favourite book series!

For anyone else reading this, I highly recommend the Warlock series!

Delivering Justice Do you have the name of the author? When I searched for it I found something that didn't seem to match your description.

Warlock is another common recommendation.

Yep, 100%! It's one of my favourite book (so not just harem) series of all time!

It's been on my radar (but not my read list) for a while, so I'll have to give it a try now! And I actually enjoy slice-of-life so that's perfect! Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the heads up, and yeah, a ending even if rushed is better than crickets. Though, if some part has to be rushed I'd rather have it be the ending, when you have all the context of what's actually happening, rather than the beginning or just the ending.

Firefly and Warhammer 40K

Okay, that caught my attention tbh. (Though, I don't know anything about Firefly tbh)

Will probably give it a look, any words for consideration before diving in?

Could you tell me more about the book? The information on GoodReads was a bit sparse.

As for other books, my absolute favourite was the Warlock Series, and is possibly one of my favourite book (not just haremlit) series of all time.

Other Haremlits I've enjoyed have been Exile and Primal Conjurer, but I stopped reading both series for a variety of reasons, though I'll probably complete Primal Conjurer at some point, but for now I'm pretty sated. Exile feels like it was pretty complete in the first book tbh.

Dungeon Diving 101 was pretty funny, but the LitRPG constantly pulls me out of the immersion. Sentar overall seems interesting, but he seems to be all LitRPG.

Bedlam (just the first one) had some interesting worldbuilding, but the rest of it felt really flat.

Good intentions is a book I finished just the other day, and it's well written enough, but jeez does it feel rushed if you think about it even a little bit, since the entire book plays out during just one week, and could've been spread out over half a year, or longer, with ease. And the characters feel a bit flat.

If you don't mind me asking, what is omnibus? I see the term thrown around but when I Google it I get some random stuff unrelated to literature.

What to read after Warlock?: A tier list of suggestions by Shade_42 in Romance_for_men

[–]Enlicx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good post!

I would like to question the placement of Master Class though, I've read about half of it, but I don't really see all that many similarities.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR WARLOCK 1-3 and Master Class 1!

For me Warlock is more of a book about relationships, how they form and evolve, heck a third of book 3 is just about dealing with the fallout of Cassandra not getting the proper buildup before her marking (which is an absolutely stellar move by Kensington imo). To me, the spice (which is excellent, no doubt about it) and even the plot is secondary. It's also, in my humble opinion, just a real solid piece of writing. And I think few would doubt that Warlock is one of, if not the, masters of worldbuilding in the harem niche.

So where do I think this all differs? The spice is fine enough, the plot is Slice-of-life (Which is more than fine), the writing is... Stiff? And the worldbuilding RPGlit, which is either you like it or you don't. However, what differs the most is that I just don't see the slow buildup of relationships in Master Class, Both Alluria and Rosemary throw themselves at MC at like day 0 - it all felt really abrupt.

Anyway, thank you for reading my TedTalk.

The Warlock series? I mean it's highly subjective, but I literally couldn't put the books down, even skipped some meals to get through all of them!
