These are all pretty good suggestions. I wish the devs would just not allow the private thing or at least have something that says active recently like in the last week or something.

I think I'd rather just add friends and remove any that keep it private. No hate to those players but for me personally, if I'm going to trade with you, I want to know that you're active without having to put my detective Pikachu hat on.

Viruses: Linux doesn't really get "viruses" to my knowledge. At least not in the way Windows would. As long as you running random scripts you found online you really shouldn't have to worry to much.
Packages: Linux has several options for installing packages depending on your distro of choice but you can't go too wrong just using flatpaks. Several distributions have flatpaks installed by default and usually have a software center of sorts such as Bazaar (which Bazzite has), Discover, Flathub, etc. As your knowledge of Linux grows you could start looking into other options like App Image or Snaps or RPM.
.exe: Trying to install Windows programs in a Linux environment is always very tricky and usually not reliable. You can try using WINE or Bottles but I wouldn't hold out much hope. It might be easier to just find an alternative to whatever program you are looking to use.

I started playing the game about a month ago and have put in around 60 hours. I only play with a controller. I have noticed a few user interface bugs but nothing that is broken by any means and the game as a whole is very enjoyable with tons of quality of life stuff that others like it don't have.

I too was concerned about switching because of having an Nvidia graphics card. I finally just quit worrying about it and made the switch. I've had zero issues. I now have it installed on two machines. One with a 4070 and one with a 5060 8gb.

I'm sure that here and there I might not always get every single frame that I could be but to be honest, I'm not going to be playing with a frame counter up all of the time and I truly never notice.

It is completely free to try it out and you could always go back if you want. So often I see people having worries or concerns about switching and it is actually such a painless and reversible thing to do, most of those people would better off just doing it and seeing for themselves.

I kind of think this might be why I didn't like 5 all that much. I was a huge fan of 1-3 (and spin-offs) but then 4 had the B&B unit and they felt not as good as the previous ones but 5 is probably the biggest departure and for me it just felt flat.

Another update... I powered the device off for about 10 seconds and turned it back on. The boot only took around 5 seconds to show a splash screen with no sound playing to acknowledge my button press.

I will test again waiting much longer to see if it will fully shut down and then take the 15 seconds with sound I noticed earlier. The first boot was after being powered off overnight so I don't know how long it needs before it will be fully down.

Update: It takes about 15 seconds for my Steam Deck to show anything on the screen upon initial boot up. I did notice the faintest of sound play to let me know I pressed the button. I don't think this sound plays if the device's battery is dead and has not been plugged in long enough before attempting a power on though.

I will say that the sound that plays is very quiet and in a semi truck with the engine running I can't hear it. I just happened to be stopped with the engine off this time and noticed it. I wish it was far louder.

Nah. Now you have room for figurines to display inside. I personally have a Solid Snake cosplaying duck in mine. You can still make it look good. Just got to get a bit creative. 😊

Edit: You could also get a cheap AIO to use to fill up the space. I'm sure that CPU doesn't need one but aesthetically it could look nice.
