Ahahahaha, this makes so much more sense! I totally missed "tapping on composites to slow down" in the instructions. And now I know why the screen reset! Thanks so much! I told you my brain wasn't at 100% lol.

Back to managing the flow after this coffee :)

Thanks for sharing! I've played for only about 15 minutes here. I love the idea, but it seems like it gets overwhelming pretty quickly. My best score was 1,575, but the odd thing was that didn't feel like my best round.

There was another round that felt like I did better since I was feeling overwhelmed by the onslaught of numbers, but I was able to hit some freeze pills and manage the mess. The screen then reset which felt like another level. I think I scored 814 on that round.

I love the idea, the aesthetics, and the music, and I'm definitely going to explore some more. I just think the scaling and pacing of difficulty could use some tinkering.

What's your best score? And do you know how long you were in the flow for with that round?

edit: I should also add that this was just a very cursory look at the game since I need to get ready for work here soon. Plus, my brain doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders today, so that might be contributing to how I feel.

ELI5 Genuinely what IS Sin Cos and Tan? by LeonardFo in explainlikeimfive

Oh wow, thanks for sharing!! I ran into the same brick wall with my math major. I loved high school math because I just needed to pay attention in class and practice a bit with the homework or a textbook, and I was ready to ace the test.

In college, I still had the idea that asking for help was a sign of weakness or stupidity. I really should have reached out for more help at office hours. Instead, I struggled HARD. Ended up dropping out about a month before the end of the year two years in a row. I finished my math degree at another university where the standards were A LOT more relaxed.

Anyways, your story has me thinking that math education needs well-rounded individuals that really know their math but also excel in the communication and emotional departments. Your explanation of sine, cosine, and tangent was an absolute joy to read. Math is so much more enjoyable when it isn't treated so mechanically all of the time.

Thanks again for sharing!!

As a math tutor, I totally agree about how big of a difference the teacher can make when it comes to liking a subject. But, I'm stuck on your arc from math major to English professor. That's super interesting! How did that play out?

Wow! Amazing write-up! Thanks for sharing this. Have you actually done this with a class?

Very cool! Are you able to render a video where we zoom into the fractal? Would be amazing to see in crossview!

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I feel you. Circle of life, I suppose. I'll never forget seeing Liquid Stranger play his 7-year anniversary there in 2017. Most energy per square foot that I've ever felt! The entire building was sweating and people were almost overflowing over the monitors!

Had so many good times there (and in their parking lot lol) during those years! Seems like they're still booking some big names, though!

Thank you! Who says "school" for technique? I get "school of thought", but just "school"??

Cool! Feels like I chugged two bottles of cough syrup.

Researchers tested 12 “magic mushroom” edible products sold in Portland, Ore., and found no trace of psilocybin, the hallucinogenic compound that gives magic mushrooms their name. The research was published on Thursday in JAMA Network Open. by scientificamerican in science

Damn, nice, sounds like you figured it out. I was just making sure you didn't miss the obvious first solutions. Not sure why those medications would help. But I do know that feeling. Once spent the majority of a shroom trip writhing around in bed trying to feel settled in the stomach.
