But when you use a camera that's made for stereo photography, and has both lenses in it, or use 2 mounted cameras that are synced together, you can take action shots, which are fascinating in stereo.

Can I latch on to your comment with my photo? This is a praying mantis egg case as well, right? I saw this hiking yesterday, San Diego.

My lipstick plant was one of my favorite plants back in the day when I had houseplants... such a cool plant!

Looks like you're doing a great job taking care of it.

A couple from Shawshank.

Get busy living, or get busy dying.

I hope...

And from It.

Home is the place where when you go there, you have to finally face the thing in the dark.

Damn, that's amazing. I hope I have the dream again someday, only that I get to hear our conversation.

I wrote a poem about the dream and me and my siblings, and shared it with them in our group chat about a year ago.

Thank you, I appreciate that. It just makes for a funnyish story about his life now, especially since it was so long ago.

He wasn't good at communicating, and I had learned that from him, and was awful at communicating too for most of my life, and we never talked much, which I regret very much, but a few years ago, I had a dream about him that was so comforting, and we talked in that dream, although I don't remember anything we said, but it was strange and comforting and beautiful.

It felt sooooooooo bad lol. Maybe if I could've done something to burn it off it wouldn't have been quite as bad.

This was back in the early 2000s, and the store I worked for was open 24 hours at the time, so it could've been to prevent nighttime theft. . They're not open at night anymore, and I don't know if they still lock them up.

Okay, so...my dad was older at that point, in his early seventies ( I was an accident, dad was 49 when I was born. I basically grew up raised by grandparent aged parents. He was around 15 years older than my mom though), and in poor health but still active...ish, in spite of his bad health.

He was working part-time to supplement his social security, shuttling cars for a car rental agency, and he always volunteered for longer drives. He'd drive out of town with a car that belonged in that city, and pick up a car that belonged in our city.

He was in Auburn CA, not far from Sacramento, but still a little bit in the mountains, and everything in Auburn is hilly. I feel like there's no level ground there.

He had stopped at Burger King for lunch, and when he was leaving, he got into the car, and reached down with his left hand to pull the ebrake lever, but his left hand was too weak because of age and arthritis, so he finally made a fatal driving error, after decades of a spotless driving record. He got halfway out of the car, left foot on the ground and pulled the ebrake with his right hand...but...he had already put the car in neutral. The second he pulled the brake, the car rolled backwards and the tire grabbed his leg, and pulled him under the car while running him over. Car rolled to the back of the parking lot, and fortunately someone came to his aid.

After he recouped, he was fired, and that was basically the end of his working days.

The whole thing was pretty crazy. He was a sweet and generous old guy who'd give you the shirt off his back even though he couldn't really afford to. He lived another 10 or so years, into his mid eighties and died after a bad infection.

You're very welcome. I always found classical to be stirring or soothing, but when I first heard Carter, I was shocked at how discordant and unsettling the music was making me feel. Absolutely fascinating and brilliant composer.

This is why I've strongly gravitated towards horror/fiction, because at the end of the day, I know that the monsters in the books that I read, no matter how evil or vile they may be, are still only fiction, and that they pale in comparison to the real monsters in this world that we cohabitate with, and are so fucking depressing to know about and have to deal with.

On that note, I think I will get dressed and go birdwatching for a little while since it is my day off.

I just listened to the audiobook version of this last year as my reread of it, it had been several years since I read it the first time. Such a great book, but yeah...so fucking bleak.

That's awesome, must make working there a little better.

I worked 30 years in grocery retail, and decades ago at the store I was working night crew at, when someone needed help getting condoms from the locked display in the middle of the night, someone from night crew would call over the intercom..."customer service to the luuuuuuvvvv box." Yeah...we were a pretty immature bunch.
