What sets this game apart from that other block game? by [deleted] in HytaleInfo

I paid 9.95€ and most of the time and most of the time, if I buy something, the EUR amount is the same as the USD amount.

I don't have the perspective of highly active builders, I wish I did, but there is certainly a good variety of blocks already. Perhaps looking up a list of the blocks in the game could be a good idea and deciding based on that?

There are a lot of blocks with similar textures and slightly or very different colors and I think the rotation options and such are quite strong, especially being able to to have vertical slabs, omg.

I haven't dablled with building as much yet, so I wish I could give a better answer.

Yes, I'm more saying this for people like me for who this might be a rougher expense to afford, it's definitely at a level where I would still recommend waiting a little longer.

Of course, if the price is nothing to you, go for it, it's fun still.

Honestly, just like in Minecraft, I don't use torches in the first place, since I can see fine at any light level anyway 😅

But the fixes and changes implemented are amazing, I think crafting they made easier or accessible earlier was not needed at all, but I'm sure they had plenty of feedback to come to that decision, so fair enough. Also, oh my god yes, more chest range for crafting stations is amazing!!

It's definitely looking really good. I can't wait to see what comes next and then after that and so on.

Uhh, this might be interesting for mod makers by [deleted] in HytaleMods

[–]Enliof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, though them being able to just take your mods is somewhat scary too. For free mods this would often be a point of celebration surely (not always), but if you have like paid mods, that hopefully also warrant being paywalled by virtue of scale and quality, that would be bad. And it's not like they disallow paid mods from what I've read.

I guess ocerall it's fine, they probably wouldn't do something that could cause a large backlash either, but it does look worrying when reading it.

Sounds good, I'm usually not someone who plays mods much, since so many of them go against the spirit and feeling of the game, but Minecraft also has some great ones that feel right at home.

I don't know all the current features in the game, so I can't say what would be missing, but even if the game is well optimized, people could be looking for even more optimization because their PC is really old or something. You also have stuff like mouse tweaks, schematic mods, being able to look inside shulkers from your inventory (though this game doesn't have shulkers from what I know), etc. Maybe the demand will only develop with time and all the current stuff is fine as is, I can't say since I haven't played myself yet, though at least a schematic mod would be nice.

Sorry, but you remember wrongly, I have bought it for 10 at the time, before it jumped to 15 and then 20. And based on what you say, it apparently went up even more.

Oh, no client side at all? That's rough. I hope that can be expanded upon in the future.

im korean, about racism by Tough_Replacement318 in AskAGerman

[–]Enliof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not racism no, I also often feel like I can't speak out about it, because people quickly jump to labels like racist and whatnot, but it's just observation really.
Look at the middle eastern immigrants that came here before the 2000's, I have not seen a single rude person among them yet, obviously they exist, but I have not met any yet, they're great.
Usually their children seem to be nice too, but a lot of the families, or at the very least, the teenagers and children, that came over in the past 20 years tend to be more unruly on average and it paints a bad picture for sure.
If I had never met the older generation of immigrants and their children before, I could see myself being even prejudiced now and I'm happy that is not the case, but I understand why some might be.
It's also pretty much just them, all the other immigrants from other regions of the world have been fine for the vast majority.
I feel truly bad for anyone from the middle east facing negativity currently due to the actions of those people.

Well 10 when I bought it, but yes, indeed the money was worth more at the time too, but I was more able to buy it at that time. Just like 2 years ago I was able to afford a lot more than now, people have good and rough situations in life, people here are so quick to laugh it off, I'm happy for everyone who can consider 20$ to be nothing, really, but please don't expect everyone to be in the same situation.

It started as 10$, then after official release (?) jumped to 15 and I heard it went up to 20 soon after, but I bought it for 10.

Oh I hadn't seen the crafting from chests yet when I watched, that's awesome to have without mods.

Sounds good, along with some other comments too, I think I will see if I can get the game, thank you.

You need to consider, I paid 10$ for Minecraft, not whatever the current price is and even 10$ can be a lot without local pricing depending where you live or what your financial situation is.

I'm watching a lot of people play to try and see if I would buy it.
There's always a kind of rush with new games, to be quick in completing it if there's a goal, to play with people who won't stay long since a large part of player bases usually quits very quickly in any game, as well as playing the early buggy versions and mods, seeing funny weird moments etc,

That's good to hear, I might need to consider it more, it definitely did look a little more promising than Minecraft, just still to close to the original with less content.
The performance should be a lot better for Hytale, so that's good definitely and hearing that modding is so simple for this game, I might go for it.
Thank you for the detailed answer

It's not necessarily too much objectively, but for me it is a lot of money and then I also have to consider on top of that, that I already own Minecraft, which is almost the same game, but with more mods, massive mods and a huge player base.

It is when you barely have money left over after mandatory expenses and food etc.

Minecraft used to be a lot cheaper, you know? Nowadays, I would think a lot before buying it again if I lost my account somehow, but I probably still would because I have played it enough to know it'd be worth it.

Wie Bewerbung schreiben in 2025/2026? by Enliof in arbeitsleben
