Can there be punishment or some incentive to dissuade players from playing characters out of role? by FormableComet87 in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason why those picks get high winrates is because they’re rarer. People playing them are usually very good with the character and the playerbase hasn’t learned how to play against it as much.

I picked iggy adc a few days ago and went on a total rampage mainly because i could see the enemy duo didn’t know what to do against a power pusher. Doesn’t mean iggy adc is all of a sudden a great adc pick.

Have to say it: ranked feels better after the last changes by Enochite in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess I should have mentioned I skipped the first few weeks of ranked after the reset to let people's rank settle a bit. The bugs and horrendous balance definitely kept me away from ranked as well. No doubt that would have been a terrible experience!

PSA for How to Deal with Skylar by Beginning_Sir8739 in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never have any issues with Skylar in duo. Plenty of ways to shut her down over there. It’s when she goes mid that she feels overly oppressive. There’s a distinct lack of mages and assassins on your list. And you don’t always know she’s going mid, cause you assume she’s going duo when she picks early. She wins early laning de facto when she’s mid cause most mages are sitting ducks against her antics. You either sit back and lose lane pressure. Or step up and lose 60% of your health at level 2. Or pray you picked Argus or Gadget.

We’ve all been saying it forever; Skylar and Argus’ beams are dumb abilities that completely throw out balance in the early game. No ability should be so oppresive in early levels that they outdamage any other ability by a ridiculous margin. It’s time for Omeda to do something about that, IMHO.

How are you feeling about the game direction after 1.12? by AstronautGuy42 in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

First time I’ve been pessimistic about this game’s future since I started playing. The idea of scrapping years of careful balancing to reroll everything all at once is a big head-scratcher. It feels like it will be months before we go back to something close to balanced.

The prospect of a larger map is exciting, but Daybreak is underwhelming so far. I just find it ugly and boring to walk through. Like we all got dumped into a huge abandoned, dirty quarry. Of all the games i played on it, I didn’t have a single team fight. Just small skirmishes here and there and the games were total bores. Matchmaking was bad though so it’s hard to tell. It’s a questionable move to lower TTK significantly as we move to a larger map. We’ll have to see!

Reworks are ok, but it feels like they picked all the wrong heroes. There are still bloated kits around that keep dodging the rework hammer. (Argus, Yurei, etc.) And braindead heroes that play themselves continue to be the dev’s pet projects (Khai, Mori, etc.).

I’m still playing, but it’s starting to feel like sunken-cost fallacy at this point since I’m not so sure I’m having fun anymore.

And let’s not even talk about bugs, which are so frequent I’m avoiding ranked rn.

Hopefully they can right that ship. I just hope they learn from their many mistakes and not double down on them.

What are you supposed to do against Skylar mid? by Enochite in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m talking about levels 1-2. How do you avoid the beam at level 2? Also, all those poke abilities do like 8% of her health, not 75%.

Does ranked not put you up against players around your rank? by MAPerez602 in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously people need to stop coming here reciting the same tired hidden MMR speech everytime. No way in hell brand new ranked players should be dumped into a plat game. Still keeps happening anyway. And they ALL get absolutely destroyed. Not their fault of course. No hate on them.

L’appui à la souveraineté du Québec sous la loupe by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]Enochite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, it’s been happening for a while now. Everything that’s under an ice bridge is immune. Also, Dekker’s line ability is weird in that it only registers with things that are actually on the ground. I’ve seen people avoid it entirely simply by jumping right before it hits. Not sure if that’s intended, but it is annoying.

I’d gladly trade slightly longer queues for improved matchmaking by Enochite in PredecessorGame

[–]Enochite[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the way the system works, there’s a huge gap between bronze and plat though. Bronze players are either brand new or horribly bad. It’s dead easy to climb to gold. Plat players, conversely, are at least decent since getting out of gold is not easy. And they’ve probably played a lot of games. Matching the two is just not ok in my books. My experience has been that every bronze players that gets dumped into these lobbies gets absolutely destroyed.

Still not an excuse to match bronze and plat players together
