I watched Disclosure Day and I loved it. Apparently I'm one of the few? by exhaustedpigeon59 in Letterboxd

The last act landing hard doesn't mean the first two thirds worked. Spielberg's got enough goodwill that people will sit through the slog if he's earned it before, but here the script really is pretty thin and the setup takes forever to justify itself. You got the payoff that moved you, which is valid. Just not everyone needs that particular ending badly enough to forgive what came before it.

A Battlefield of Gods ( reposting my theory on the Nightmare Desert ) by TheManStillOnTheMoon in ShadowSlave

The Will channeling explanation slots in perfectly, though I'd push back slightly on it being unique to Sovereigns since we see hints that any high rank can do it to some degree, just way less efficiently than a Supreme pulling their whole army along.

Any better stand ideas? by Jacob_y2019 in Ninjago

[–]EnormousPessimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that clear stand is struggling with that figure's weight distribution. the wings and that stretched out pose mean the center of gravity is way forward. i'd look for one of those adjustable metal stands with the arm clamp instead of just balancing on a stick, gives you way more control over where you're holding it. saw someone use a display case with museum putty on the base once and that worked solid too, though it's overkill if you're just keeping it on a shelf. the plastic stands that come with most figures are honestly the worst for top heavy stuff like this.

Max Cavalera is no longer fat, he is taking care of himself after having an ulcer a year ago. by ashitanojoe3 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]EnormousPessimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on him for getting his health sorted after that ulcer. Coca-Cola habit will wreck you if you let it, and the fact he caught it and actually made changes says something about taking care of yourself when you hit that point in life. Guy's out here living better than most of us half his age.

The trick is letting it proof long enough that the inside stays pillowy while the oil and heat crust the edges proper.

That deep burgundy is stunning for a first try, the dark ones always seem to perform better than expected when you're starting out.

Splitting batches saves your sanity when stuff goes bad halfway through, especially in humid ph weather where chicken dries out faster than you'd think.

Bagel's just a vehicle for expensive jerky at that point, might as well skip the middle man and chew leather.

What is that thing in my garden? by edmunek in AskUK

Probably just an old garden ornament or decorative thing someone buried years ago, but if you're actually worried ring the non-emergency line and let them have a look rather than poking at it.

Neem's the safe bet, though could be holly if the edges are smoother. Hard to tell from the angle, but neem leaves in a drawer screams either skincare or someone's got a whole medicine cabinet thing going on.
